List Of Islands Of Macau
There are one peninsula, one main island, and several small artificial islands in the Macao Special Administrative Region. The main island is located to the south of the Macau Peninsula and at the east of Hengqin Island of the Pearl River (Zhujiang), Guangdong Province, China. The island remains unnamed since its creation in the late 1990s, after the reclamation project of Cotai which filled up the channel between the islands of Coloane and Taipa. Historically, the unnamed island was under the administration of the Concelho das Ilhas, The Macau Peninsula was once an island on the Pearl River Delta. It has linked to Zhongshan Island as a result of sedimentation and became a peninsula approx. two thousand years ago. Nam Van Lake
The Nam Van Lake (; pt, Lago Nam Van) is a man-made lake in Sé, Macau, Sé, Macau, China. It is one of two man made lakes in Macau. It is located at the southern end of Macau Peninsula. The lake was once part of a bay (Praia Grande (Macau), Praia Grande Bay), created when the causeway (Avenida Dr Sun Yat Sen) partially closed off the bay. Wanzai, Small Hengqin And Great Hengqin Islands
Wanzai, Small Hengqin and Great Hengqin (Portuguese names: Lapa, Dom João and Montanha) are three islands located to the west of the Macau Peninsula and the Macau islands of Taipa and Coloane that were under Portuguese influence. They were inhabited by a very small Chinese population in its early history. Two of them have since been combined via land reclamation to form the current Hengqin island. The water channels between Small Hengqin, Great Hengqin, Taipa, and Coloane used to be known as Shizimen Channel (literally "cross gate") in Chinese, due to the plus sign-shaped arrangement of water channels between the four islands. A number of maritime battle occurred over the area in the past, but the water channel now disappeared due to land reclamation connecting Small Hengqin with Great Hengqin and connecting Taipa with Coloane. The Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge (HZMB) is a bridge–tunnel system consisting of a series of three cable-stayed bridges, an undersea tunnel, and four artificial islands. It is both the longest sea crossing and the longest open-sea fixed link in the world. The HZMB spans the Lingding and Jiuzhou channels, connecting Hong Kong, Macau, and Zhuhai—three major cities on the Pearl River Delta in China. Ilha Verde
Ilha Verde, also known by its Cantonese name Cing-zau and Mandarin name Qingzhou, is an area in the northwest of Macau Peninsula, Macau that forms part of the Our Lady Fatima Parish. It is a former island—known in English as Verde or Green Island—to the west of the Macau Isthmus. It was settled by Jesuits. Ilha Verde was connected to the Macau Peninsula in 1895 when a causeway (now Avenida do Conselheiro Borja) was built. Since then reclamation projects around the island took place and now it is annexed to be a part of Macau Peninsula. Colina da Ilha Verde is a hill comprising much of Ilha Verde.
