Auto racing (also known as car racing, motor racing, or automobile racing) is a motorsport involving the racing of automobiles for competition. Auto racing has existed since the invention of the automobile. Races of various sorts were organised, with the first recorded as early as 1867. Many of the earliest events were effectively Classic trials, reliability trials, aimed at proving these new machines were a practical mode of transport, but soon became an important way for automobile makers to demonstrate their machines. By the 1930s, specialist racing cars had developed. There are now numerous different categories, each with different rules and regulations. Aldo Andretti
Aldo Andretti (February 28, 1940 – December 30, 2020) was an Italian-born American racing driver and entrepreneur, the twin brother of Mario Andretti and the father of Carolyn Andretti Molander, Mark Andretti, John Andretti, Mary Jo Andretti Dial, and Adam Andretti. He was the uncle of Michael Andretti and Jeff Andretti, great-uncle of Marco Andretti, and grandfather of Jarett Andretti. Aldo and Mario were identical twins. Background Aldo and Mario were born in Montona, Kingdom of Italy, now Motovun, Croatia, where their father, Gigi, managed a farm. After World War II Istria (which is now part of Croatia) became a part of Yugoslavia. His family, like many other Italian Istrians, fled in 1948. They lived in a refugee camp from 1948 to 1955 until they were able to move to a two-room flat with the help of their uncle Quirino, who was a priest.

Randy Baker
Randy Baker (born May 14, 1958) is an American stock car racing driver. Son of Winston Cup champion Buck Baker, he competed in NASCAR's top divisions in the 1980s and 1990s, and currently operates a driving school. Career Baker made his racing debut in 1976 at Thunder Valley Speedway in Leesville, South Carolina; he finished 10th in his first Limited Sportsman race. He made his debut in NASCAR's top series, then known as the Winston Cup Series, in 1982 at North Carolina Motor Speedway, finishing 20th in a family-owned Pontiac. Baker would run in a total of 14 Winston Cup races in his career, with a best finish of 17th at the 1987 Coca-Cola 600 Charlotte Motor Speedway. Buddy Baker
Elzie Wylie "Buddy" Baker Jr. (January 25, 1941 – August 10, 2015) was an American professional stock car racing driver and commentator. Over the course of his 33-year racing career, he won 19 races in the NASCAR Cup Series, including the 1980 Daytona 500. Known by the nickname "Gentle Giant," Baker was noted for his prowess at NASCAR's superspeedways, Daytona and Talladega, at which he won a combined six races. Jessica Bäckman
Jessica Bäckman (born 25 August 1997) is a Swedish racing driver currently competing in the ADAC TCR Germany for Comtoyou Racing. She is the sister of fellow racing driver Andreas Bäckman. Jessica Bäckman has previously raced in World Touring Car Cup where she was the first women to achieve World Cup points in the series, and she was recently crowned the Vice Champion title in ADAC TCR Germany. Chris Atkinson (born 30 November 1979 in Bega, New South Wales, Australia) is a professional rally driver. In the World Rally Championship (WRC), Atkinson drove for the Subaru World Rally Team between 2004 and 2008. Paul Aron
Paul Aron (born 4 February 2004) is an Estonian racing driver currently set to race in the 2023 FIA Formula 3 Championship with Prema Racing. He previously competed in the Formula Regional European Championship for Prema in 2021 and 2022, in which he ended both series in third. Aron is part of the Mercedes Junior Team.
