Drag Queen
A drag queen is a person, usually male, who uses drag clothing and makeup to imitate and often exaggerate female gender signifiers and gender roles for entertainment purposes. Historically, drag queens have usually been gay men, and part of gay culture. People partake in the activity of ''doing drag'' for reasons ranging from self-expression to mainstream performance. Drag shows frequently include lip-syncing, live singing, and dancing. They occur at events like LGBT pride parades, carnivals and drag pageants and in venues such as cabarets and nightclubs. Drag queens vary by type, culture, and dedication, from professionals who star in films and spend a lot of their time in their drag persona, to people who do drag only occasionally. House Of LeMay
The House of LeMay is a drag performance team founded in the early 1990s by Bob Bolyard (Amber LeMay) and Michael Hayes (Margaurite LeMay). The other regular member of the team is Johnnie McLaughlin (Lucy Belle LeMay). The House of LeMay is based in Burlington, Vermont, but in their act they say they are from "The Hot Dam Trailer Park in Beaver Pond, Vermont". House of LeMay co-founder Margaurite LeMay (Michael Hayes) died in March of 2023 after more than 25 years performing with the troupe. Work The House of LeMay performs throughout the year, and they often raise money for charitable causes. Leo Loren, better known by the stage name Baga Chipz, is an English drag queen known for competing on the first series of ''RuPaul's Drag Race UK'' (2019) and later the first season of '' RuPaul's Drag Race: UK vs the World'' (2022). Baga Chipz also appeared in the fifth series of the Channel 4 school drama series ''Ackley Bridge'' (2022). Lars-Åke Wilhelmsson
Lars-Åke Wilhelmsson (born 8 September 1958) is a Swedish fashion designer and drag artist. Mostly known for his performances as the character Babsan (), he was educated as a typographist and art director. Biography Wilhelmsson was a successful ballroom dancer in his youth. In 1979 he formed a group of drag artists called ''Surprise Sisters'' along with friends. During the 1980s, he was often hired as a male striptease dancer, mostly at the nightclub Bacchi Wapen in Stockholm. He has been awarded the Guldmasken award several times for his work as a designer due to his work with costumes for the musicals ''RENT'', '' Wizard of Oz'', '' Pippi Långstrump'', ''Stars'', '' Karlsson på taket'' and '' Grease''. George Boyle (born 22 September 1996), better known by the stage name A'Whora, is a British drag queen from Worksop, England. He is best known for competing on the RuPaul's Drag Race UK (series 2), second series of ''RuPaul's Drag Race UK.'' Education Boyle studied for a diploma in womenswear and fashion at a college in Mansfield when he was 16, and graduated in 2013. In 2015, he moved to London to study at the London College of Fashion, where he earned a bachelor's degree in womenswear in 2018. Aston Joshua (born 11 February 1993), better known by the stage name Asttina Mandella, is a British drag queen and dancer from East London.
