The Baoshan Dam () is a dam located in Baoshan Township, Hsinchu County, Taiwan. The dam supplies water to Hsinchu City and cooling water to factories in Hsinchu Science and Industrial Park. Niaosong District
Niaosong District () is a rural district of Kaohsiung City, Taiwan. History After the handover of Taiwan from Japan to the Republic of China in 1945, Niaosong was organized as a rural township of Kaohsiung County. On 25 December 2010, Kaohsiung County was merged with Kaohsiung City and Niaosong was upgraded to a district of the city. Geography It has 43,937 inhabitants in 2016. Chengqing Lake
Chengcing Lake (), also known as the Cheng Ching Lake, Dabei Lake (大貝湖), or Toapi Lake () in Taiwanese, is an artificial lake located in Niaosong, Kaohsiung, Taiwan. The lake is not far from downtown Kaohsiung and the major suburban district of Fengshan. The lake is a source of the water supply network and a tourist area of the Kaohsiung region. Park and aquarium A portion of the lake with its shore is administrated as a gated park. A chateau of Chiang Kai-shek, the former president and military leader of Taiwan, is located in the park. Around the lake shore, Chiang also established an underground military headquarters, which has been adapted into a public aquarium, the Cheng Ching Lake Exotic Marine Life Museum. Huxi Township (; Pha̍k-fa-sṳ: ''Fù-sî-hiông'') is a rural township in Penghu County (the Pescadores), Taiwan. It is located on the eastern part of the Penghu Main Island and is the largest township in Penghu County. History Huxi Township was administered as during the Japanese era. Chenggong Reservoir (), also known as Chengkung Reservoir, Cheng Kung Reservoir, is a reservoir on the Penghu Islands, located in Chenggong Village, Huxi Township, Penghu County, Taiwan. Baoshan Second Dam
The Baoshan Second Dam () is a dam in Baoshan Township, Hsinchu County, Taiwan. History In 1986, the planning team of Water Resources Bureau of the Taiwan Provincial Government conducted preliminary study for a dam exploration to alleviate water scarcity problem in Hsinchu County in the future. In 1989, the initial planning to construct the dam began and the feasibility study started in 1993. In 1995, the Project Plan for the Second Baoshan Reservoir in Hsinchu County was proposed. The construction began in April 1997 and completed in June 2006. In 2020, the government announced that it would increase the height of the dam to increase the total water supply of Taiwan.
