The team is considered a direct successor of the Czechoslovakian side, which competed from 1921 to 1992, therefore share their historical record. They started playing as the Czech Republic in 1993. Tennis
Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. The object of the game is to manoeuvre the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. The player who is unable to return the ball validly will not gain a point, while the opposite player will. Tennis is an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society and at all ages. Petr Kralert
Petr Kralert (born 20 October 1979) is a former professional tennis player from the Czech Republic. Tennis career Juniors Kralert had a good year as a junior in 1996, when he won the Banana Bowl; was a doubles champion at the Orange Bowl, partnering countryman Robin Vik; and bagelled Roger Federer when he beat the future World No. 1 in the Sunshine Cup. He reached as high as No. 19 in the junior world singles rankings (and No. 16 in doubles). Pro tour In 1999 he made an appearance for the Czech Republic Davis Cup team, in a World Group play-off tie against Uzbekistan. Tomáš Zíb (born 31 January 1976), is a retired male tennis player from the Czech Republic. He reached a career-high singles ranking of World No. 51 in July 2005. Currently he is active conducting tennis lessons in Singapore. Pavel Vízner
Pavel Vízner (born 15 July 1970) is a retired professional male tennis player from the Czech Republic. Vízner has reached the French Open final twice, having had turned professional in 1990 and achieved a career high doubles ranking of World No. 5 in November 2007. Career While Vízner had played tournaments in 1988 and 1989 before professionalism in 1990, he won his first title in Prague in 1993 on the Challenger circuit, defeating Swedes Tomas Nydahl and Mikael Tillström in the final, partnered by David Rikl, also a player with a higher doubles ranking and ultimately more success. Jan Vacek (yahn VAH-tseck; born 10 May 1976) is a retired professional male tennis player from the Czech Republic. Vacek reached a career high ATP Tour, ATP singles ranking of World No. 61, achieved on 5 August 2002. He also reached a career high ATP Tour, ATP doubles ranking of World No. 115, achieved on 25 April 2005. Daniel Vacek
Daniel Vacek (born 1 April 1971) is a former tennis player from Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic who turned professional in 1990. He reached the quarterfinals of the 1995 Paris Masters, the 1998 Canada Masters and the 1998 Cincinnati Masters, and achieved a career-high singles ranking of world No. 26 in January 1996. Vacek represented his native country at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta where he was defeated in the second round. Bohdan Ulihrach
Bohdan Ulihrach (born 23 February 1975) is a former professional tennis player from the Czech Republic. Career Ulihrach turned professional in 1993. He won his first top-level singles title in July 1995 at Prague, where he defeated Javier Sánchez in the final. His second followed three months later at Montevideo, where he beat Alberto Berasategui in the final. In 1996, Ulihrach was part of the Czech Republic team which finished runner-up at the World Team Cup. In 1997, en-route to his first hardcourt final at the Indian Wells Masters, Ulihrach beat the then-world No. 1, Pete Sampras. In the final, he was defeated by Michael Chang. Michal Tabara (born 16 October 1979) is a former tennis player from the Czech Republic, who turned professional in 1997. Cyril Suk
Cyril Suk III (born 29 January 1967) is a former professional tennis player. A doubles specialist, Suk won five Grand Slam titles, one men's doubles and four Grand Slam mixed doubles titles and 32 ATP Tour doubles titles during his career. Early life Suk was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, a member of a prominent Czech tennis family. His mother, Věra Suková, was a women's singles finalist at Wimbledon in 1962. Radek Štěpánek
Radek Štěpánek (; born 27 November 1978) is a Czech former professional tennis player. His career-high singles ranking was world No. 8 and best doubles ranking was world No. 4. Štěpánek's biggest achievements are reaching two Masters 1000 event finals and the quarterfinals of Wimbledon in 2006, as well as winning the deciding match for Czech Republic's Davis Cup winning team in 2012 and again in 2013. Lukáš Rosol (; born 24 July 1985) is a Czech professional tennis player. He competes on the ATP Challenger Tour and the ATP Tour, both in singles and doubles. Rosol was coached by former Czech player, 1999 US Open quarterfinalist Ctislav Doseděl. His career-high singles ranking is world No. 26, achieved on 22 September 2014. His first notable victory was against world No. 8, Jürgen Melzer, at the 2011 French Open, whom he defeated in five sets in the second round a year after Melzer had reached the semifinal. His success came mostly in doubles, winning 30 titles and finishing runner-up at the 2004 US Open and 2001 Wimbledon Championships Men's Doubles.
