Chileans ( es, Chilenos) are people identified with the country of Chile, whose connection may be residential, legal, historical, ethnic, or cultural. For most Chileans, several or all of these connections exist and are collectively the source of their Chilean identity. Chile is a multilingual and multicultural society, but an overwhelming majority of Chileans have Spanish as their first language and either are Christians or have a Christian cultural background. Therefore, many Chileans do not equate their nationality with ethnicity, but with citizenship and allegiance to Chile. The overwhelming majority of Chileans are the product of varying degrees of admixture between European ethnic groups (predominantly Spaniards and Basques) with peoples indigenous to Chile's modern territory (predominantly Mapuche). Miranda Bodenhöfer (born Santiago, Chile on 17 May 1990) is a Chilean ballet dancer and actress, known for her role in the Spanish film ''The Dancer and the Thief''. Biography Belonging to an artistic family, Miranda is the daughter of musician Andreas Bodenhöfer and actress Verónica González, and niece of television actor Bastián Bodenhöfer. Bastián Lorenzo Bodenhöfer Alexander (Santiago, July 1, 1961) is a Chilean actor, theater director, musician and cultural manager. He served as cultural attaché of the Chile embassy in France between 2000 and 2002, during the government of president Ricardo Lagos. Bodenhöfer established himself as a renowned actor in the ''telenovela'' ''Ángel Malo'' in 1986. Shlomit Baytelman Albala (Hebrew: שלומית בייטלמן; Yiddish: שלאָמיט בייַטעלמאַן; born Afula, November 30, 1949) is a Israeli-born actress, director, and writer who became a naturalized Chilean citizen. She gained recognition in the mid-1970s as a sex symbol in Chilean cinema, particularly for her role in the film ''Julio comienza en julio'', and later for an extensive career in television. In addition, she is a professor of acting perception, diction, and vocal projection, and a theater and opera director. Eduardo Andrés Barril Villalobos (born July 7, 1941 in Puerto Montt) is a Chilean actor and theatre director. Sara Ramona Alicia Masriera del Campillo (stage name, Alicia Barrié; 7 October 1915 – 28 September 2002) was a Chilean actress who made her acting career in Argentina.
