This is a comprehensive list of Camorra clans and their place of origin. A clan is a basic unit in the Camorra, a criminal organization originating in Campania. Currently it is estimated there are about 111 Camorra clans, and about 7,000 full members. Cesarano Clan
The Cesarano clan is a Camorra clan from the town of Castellammare di Stabia, in the Metropolitan City of Naples. History The founder and important figure of the clan was Ferdinando Cesarano (born August 26, 1954), aka "Nanduccio 'e Ponte Persica". Cesarano was known to be charismatic figure of the organized crime scene in the Campania since the late 1970s and early 1980s, in those years, he was a ruthless killer working for the Nuova Famiglia, reporting directly to Carmine Alfieri, and in close contact with the highest members of the organization. In the mid-80s, Ferdinando Cesarano, by then an established Camorra member after the defeat of the Nuova Camorra Organizzata led by Raffaele Cutolo and the dissolution of the winning Nuova Famiglia, decided to found his own clan. Di Lauro Clan
The Di Lauro clan () is an Italian crime clan, part of the Camorra in Naples. The clan operates in the neighbourhoods of Secondigliano, Scampìa, Miano, Marianella, Piscinola, and in the adjacent municipalities of Casavatore, Melito, Arzano, Villaricca and Mugnano (all in the province of Naples). At its peak, between the mid-1990s and the early 2000s, the organization was earning more than €500,000 a day from the sale of drugs alone, making Secondigliano the largest open-air drug market in Europe. The founder of the clan is Paolo Di Lauro (known as "Ciruzzo il milionario"), from Via Cupa dell'Arco, in Secondigliano. De Luca Bossa Clan
The De Luca Bossa clan is a Neapolitan Camorra clan operating in the eastern suburbs of Naples, and more specifically in the area of Ponticelli and in municipality of Cercola. History The clan was founded by Antonio De Luca Bossa, known as ''‘O sicco'', in the 1990s. Antonio is the son of Umberto De Luca Bossa, who was a trusted member of the Nuova Camorra Organizzata and died from natural causes in 2008 after 18 years in jail. In the late 1980s ''‘O sicco'' started his criminal career as a ferocious killer for the once powerful Sarno clan. At the age of 17, he was arrested, accused of involvement in a massacre led by the Sarnos in which six people died, four of them by mistake. Contini Clan
The Contini clan is a powerful Neapolitan Camorra clan operating in the city of Naples, and more specifically in the area of the Naples Central Station. The clan's traditional powerbase is the Arenaccia district. It also operates in the Poggioreale, Vasto, Mercato and San Carlo all'Arena suburbs of Naples. The clan is also active outside Italy, particularly in Barcelona, Spain, in Amsterdam, Netherlands and in Eastern Europe. Giuliano Clan
The Giuliano clan was a powerful Neapolitan Camorra clan that had its base in the area of Forcella, in Naples. Its sphere of influence extended to all the centre of the city of Naples for over four decades. History The clan was founded by Pio Vittorio Giuliano (1926 - September 27, 2009), known as ''‘o padrino'' in the early post-war years, primarily dedicated to cigarette smuggling. Mazzarella Clan
The Mazzarella clan is a Campanian Camorra clan operating in the city of Naples. The clan is historically considered one of the most powerful groups of the Camorra. History The clan was founded in the 1960s by the Mazzarella brothers, Ciro known as o Scellone'', Gennaro and Vincenzo, as a ramification of the Zaza clan, then headed by the historical boss Michele Zaza, who was a relative of the Mazzarella brothers. Aprea-Cuccaro Clan
The Aprea-Cuccaro clan is a Camorra clan operating in the area of Barra, in the city of Naples. History Giovanni Aprea, known as e curtiello'', a leading figure of the clan, began the criminal career working for Ciro Sarno, then a powerful boss of the Sarno clan from Ponticelli. Aprea was arrested for the first time on April 27, 1990, in a building in Barra, where he was hiding with his three bodyguards, all fugitives for Camorra association and racketeering. Polverino Clan
The Polverino clan is a Neapolitan Camorra clan operating in the town of Marano di Napoli. The clan is present also in Villaricca, Quarto, Pozzuoli, Qualiano and in the district Camaldoli of Naples (place of origin of the Polverino family). Outside Italy, the clan has a strong presence in Spain, in particular in Barcelona, Málaga and Alicante. According to the investigations, the Polverinos are considered the successors of the Nuvoletta clan. Nuvoletta Clan
The Nuvoletta clan was a powerful Neapolitan Camorra clan operating from the town of Marano di Napoli, situated on the northern outskirts of the city of Naples, southern Italy. The Nuvolettas belonged to a new style of Camorra, one that had the dimensions of a large corporation, and considered much more entrepreneurial. Marano Di Napoli
Marano di Napoli (; ) is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Metropolitan City of Naples in the Italy, Italian region Campania, located about northwest of Naples. Partly located on the Camaldoli hill, it is one of the most populous municipalities in the metropolitan city.
