Kazi Hayat (born 15 February 1947, although in a newspaper Hayat claimed that he was born on 13 April 1948) is a Bangladeshi film director, producer, writer, and actor. Hayat won Bangladesh National Film Awards eight times - Best Story for ''Dayi Ke'' (1987), Best Dialogue and Best Screenplay for Traash (1992), Best Story for '' Chandabaz'' (1993), Best Director and Best Screenplay for '' Desh Premik'' (1994), Best Cinematography for ''Ammajan'' (1999), and Best Director for '' Itihas'' (2002). Kabuliwala ( bn, কাবুলিওয়ালা) is a drama film of 2006 directed by Kazi Hayat. It was based on "Kabuliwala", an 1892 short story written by Rabindranath Tagore. Kazi Hayat conducted the screenplay and dialogues. Faridur Reza Sagar and Ibn Hasan Khan jointly produced this film under the banner of Impress Telefilm Limited. Humayun Ahmed (; 13 November 1948 – 19 July 2012) was a Bangladeshi novelist, dramatist, screenwriter, filmmaker, songwriter, scholar, and professor. His breakthrough was his debut novel ''Nondito Noroke'' published in 1972. He wrote over 200 fiction and non-fiction books, many of which were bestsellers in Bangladesh. His books were the top sellers at the Ekushey Book Fair during the 1990s and 2000s. He won the Bangla Academy Literary Award in 1981 and the Ekushey Padak in 1994 for his contribution to Bengali literature. In the early 1990s, Ahmed emerged as a filmmaker.
