Bangla Academy Literary Award
The Bangla Academy Literary Award ( bn, বাংলা একাডেমি সাহিত্য পুরস্কার; ''Bangla Academy Shahitya Puroshkar''), is given by the Bangla Academy of Bangladesh in recognition of creative genius in advancement and overall contribution in the field of Bengali language and literature. It was introduced in 1960 and recognized six categories: poetry, novels, short stories, essays, children's literature and translation. Beginning in 1985, two more awards were introduced to recognize overall contributions to Bengali language and literature. Jharna Rahman (born 28 June 1959) is a Bangladeshi writer specialising in short stories, novels, travelogues, essays, non-fiction, and children's books. She was awarded 2021 Bangla Academy Literary Award and 1427 Anannya Literature Award. Haider Akbar Khan Rono
Haider Akbar Khan Rono (born 31 August 1942) is a Bangladeshi public leader, theorist and writer. He is a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of Bangladesh. He has published 13 books. He has received the Bangla Academy Literary Award (2021). Early life Rono was born on 31 August 1942 in Calcutta, Bengal Presidency, British India (now Kolkata, India) to engineer Hatem Ali Khan. His grandfather, Syed Nausher Ali, was an Indian politician and his younger brother, Haider Anwar Khan Juno, was a leftist politician and freedom fighter. Harun-or-Rashid
Harun-or-Rashid is a Bangladeshi academic. He is a former vice-chancellor of Bangladesh National University. Education Born in Barishal District, Rashid obtained bachelor's and master's degrees from the University of Dhaka. He earned his Ph.D. degree from the University of London in 1983. He was engaged in post-doctoral research at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies in University of London during 1992–93 under Commonwealth Academic Staff Fellowship. Panna Kaiser (born 25 May 1950) is a Bangladesh Awami League politician and a former member of Jatiya Sangsad selected for the women's reserved seats during 1996–2001. She was awarded 2021 Bangla Academy Literary Award in the research on liberation war category.
