Nepal–Britain Treaty Of 1923
The Nepal–Britain Treaty was first discussed in 1921 and the final treaty was signed on 21 December 1923 in Singha Durbar. The treaty was the first formal acknowledgement by the British that Nepal, as an independent nation, had the right to conduct its foreign policy in any way it saw fit and was considered to be “a great achievement of 25 years of Chandra Shumsher’s diplomacy.” The treaty was recorded in 1925 in the League of Nations. Richard Charles Morris (1 November 1967 – ) was a British diplomat who served as British Ambassador to Nepal from 2015 to 2019. He was reported missing after going for a run in Hampshire in May 2020, and his body was identified four months later. An inquest heard he had been "extremely stressed" before his death. An inquiry into his death found he had died of suicide. Early and personal life Morris was born on 1 November 1967 in Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire, to John and Kathleen Morris. He had a younger sister and attended Droitwich Spa High School. Morris was born with a port-wine stain birthmark on the left hand side of his face. He underwent laser surgery in an attempt to remove his birthmark as a young teenager, but the procedure was eventually halted. John Rankin (diplomat)
John James Rankin, (born 12 March 1957) is a British diplomat and a former ambassador to Nepal. He is the current Governor of the Virgin Islands, Governor of the British Virgin Islands. He was Governor of Bermuda from December 2016 to December 2020. Early life and education Rankin was born on 12 March 1957. He was educated at Hutchesons' Grammar School, Hutchesons' Boys' Grammar School, an Independent school (United Kingdom), independent school in Glasgow, Scotland. He studied Scots law at the University of Glasgow, graduating with a first class honours Bachelor of Laws degree. He later studied international law at McGill University, graduating with a Master of Laws degree. Andrew Sparkes CMG (born 4 July 1959) is a former British diplomat who was ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kosovo and Nepal. Career Andrew James Sparkes was educated at King Edward's School, Birmingham, Manchester Grammar School and Trinity Hall, Cambridge.
