Lisanne De Roever
Lisanne Freya de Roever (born 6 June 1979 in Amstelveen, North Holland) is a Dutch field hockey player who plays as a goalkeeper for Dutch club SV Kampong. She made her debut for the Netherlands women's national field hockey team, Netherlands national team on 5 March 2005 in a friendly match against Malaysia women's national field hockey team, Malaysia. De Roever was a member of the Dutch squad that won the silver medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens. She was also part of the squad that became World Champion at the 2006 Women's Hockey World Cup and which won the 2007 Women's Champions Trophy (field hockey), 2007 Champions Trophy. At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing she won an Olympic gold medal with the Netherlands women's national field hockey team, Dutch national team beating China women's national field hockey team, China in the final 2–0. Field Hockey
Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, synthetic field, or indoor boarded surface. The stick is made of wood, carbon fibre, fibreglass, or a combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass in different quantities. The stick has two sides; one rounded and one flat; only the flat face of the stick is allowed to progress the ball. During play, goalkeepers are the only players allowed to touch the ball with any part of their body. A player's hand is considered part of the stick if holding the stick. Malaysia Women's National Field Hockey Team
The Malaysia women's national field hockey team represents Malaysia in international field hockey competitions. As of Jan 2017, the team was ranked 21st in the FIH World Rankings. The team is part of the Asian Hockey Federation. They recently participated in the inaugural International Super Series in Perth, playing against India and Australia in a modified 9-a-side format. North Holland ( nl, Noord-Holland, ) is a province of the Netherlands in the northwestern part of the country.
