Lisa Barbelin
Lisa Barbelin (born 10 April 2000) is a French archer, who won the recurve events at the 2021 European Archery Championships, and 2022 European Indoor Archery Championships. She has previously won multiple medals at the World Youth Archery Championships, and won bronze medals in events at the 2019 and 2022 Archery World Cups. In June 2021 she was the world's number one ranked competitor. Barbelin competed in the women's individual event at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Career Barbelin trains at the ''Société de tir de Dieuze'' in Dieuze, Moselle, and ' in Auvergne. She competed at the 2017 European Junior Archery Cup, finishing third in the individual event in Marathon, Greece, and second in the individual and team events in Poreč, Croatia. That year she also came third in the team event at the 2017 World Youth Archery Championships. Archery World Cup
The Archery World Cup is a competition, started in 2006, organized by the World Archery Federation, where the archers compete in four stages in four countries and the best eight archers of each category (from 2010, four archers during 2006-09) advance to an additional stage to contest the Archery World Cup Final. This form of competition was introduced following the success of the 2003 World Archery Championships in New York and the 2004 Summer Olympics with the intent of making the sport more popular and attractive to spectators, with the matches being held in 'spectacular' locations and the final matches being broadcast online. Archery At The 2020 Summer Olympics – Women's Individual
The women's individual archery event was one of five archery events held at the 2020 Summer Olympics. It was held at Yumenoshima Park. There were 64 competitors from 40 nations, with each nation having either 1 or 3 archers. Background This was the 13th consecutive appearance of the event, which has been held every Games since archery returned to the Olympic program in 1972. Five of the 8 quarterfinalists from the 2016 Games returned: silver medalist Lisa Unruh of Germany, fourth-place finisher Alejandra Valencia of Mexico, and quarterfinalists Tan Ya-ting of Chinese Taipei, Wu Jiaxin of China, and Naomi Folkard of Great Britain.
