Lis Vega is a Cuban actress, singer, vedette and model, best known for her roles in the Mexican TV series Santa Diabla and Amorcito corazón. Personal life Vega was born as Liseska Vega Gálvez on October 20, 1977, in Havana, Cuba. She is married to Mauro Rivera and has one sister, Lieska Vega Gálvez. Her parents, Lázaro Vega and Martha Elena Gálvez, divorced when she was ten years old. At 15, Vega went to Italy in a cultural exchange where she participated in the TV show ''Cuba 95''. In 1997, she emigrated to Mexico. In 2008, Vega married Federico Díaz, who later confessed his homosexuality to her, ending their marriage after only four months. On February 11, 2013, she married Chilean Mauro Rivero after a month of dating, when they had known each other only eight months. A vedette is the main female artist of a show derived from cabaret and its subcategories of revue, vaudeville, music hall or burlesque. The purpose of the vedette is to entertain and captivate the public. The vedette has to know how to sing, dance and act on stage. Particularly accomplished artistes are considered ''super vedettes'' or ''first vedettes''. Vedettes often appear alongside groups of dancers, flashy and revealing costumes, magicians, comedians, jugglers, or even performing animals. Vedettes specializing in burlesque generally do striptease and may also perform nude on stage. Santa Diabla (literally: ''Holy Devil'', English title: ''Broken Angel'') is an American telenovela written by José Ignacio Valenzuela, and produced by United States-based television network Telemundo Studios, Miami. The story begins with Gaby Espino and Carlos Ponce starring as the protagonists, while Aarón Díaz and Ximena Duque star as the antagonists. Telemundo aired the serial as part of its 2013–2014 season. Niurka Marcos Calle is a Cuban singer, dancer, actress, and vedette. Personal life Marcos was born in Havana, Cuba to Carmelo Marcos, a Cuban navy major, and Salustiana "Celeste" Calle, a housewife. ''Jarabe tapatío'', often referred to as the Mexican hat dance, is the national dance of Mexico. It originated as a courtship dance in Guadalajara, Jalisco, during the 19th century, although its elements can be traced back to the Spanish ''zambra'' and ''jarabe gitano'', which were popular during the times of the viceroyalty. Female dancers traditionally wear a '' china poblana'' outfit, while the male dancers dress as ''charros''.
