Finnish Language
Finnish ( endonym: or ) is a Uralic language of the Finnic branch, spoken by the majority of the population in Finland and by ethnic Finns outside of Finland. Finnish is one of the two official languages of Finland (the other being Swedish). In Sweden, both Finnish and Meänkieli (which has significant mutual intelligibility with Finnish) are official minority languages. The Kven language, which like Meänkieli is mutually intelligible with Finnish, is spoken in the Norwegian county Troms og Finnmark by a minority group of Finnish descent. Finnish is typologically agglutinative and uses almost exclusively suffixal affixation. Nouns, adjectives, pronouns, numerals and verbs are inflected depending on their role in the sentence. Sentences are normally formed with subject–verb–object word order, although the extensive use of inflection allows them to be ordered differently. Estonian ( ) is a Finnic language, written in the Latin script. It is the official language of Estonia and one of the official languages of the European Union, spoken natively by about 1.1 million people; 922,000 people in Estonia and 160,000 outside Estonia. Classification Estonian belongs to the Finnic branch of the Uralic language family. The Finnic languages also include Finnish and a few minority languages spoken around the Baltic Sea and in northwestern Russia. Edvard Ferdinand Linna (26 August 1886 – 30 December 1974) was a Finnish gymnast who won bronze in the 1908 Summer Olympics. Ivo Linna (born 12 June 1949 in Kuressaare) is an Estonian singer. Eurovision Song Contest and Eesti Laul He represented Estonia alongside Maarja Liis Ilus in the Eurovision Song Contest 1996 in Oslo with the song " Kaelakee Hääl" (The Sound of a Necklace) which finished 5th at the contest. He competed in Eesti Laul 2017 with the song "Suur Loterii" (Big Lottery). The song won its semi final, but came fifth of ten entries in the final round. Together with his son Robert Linna and the Estonian band Supernova, Ivo participated in Eesti Laul 2021 with the song "Ma Olen Siin" (I'm Here). Miriam Linna
Miriam Linna (born October 16, 1955 in Greater Sudbury, Sudbury, Ontario) is a Canadian-American drummer who has run the Brooklyn-based independent record label Norton Records since 1986, originally with her husband, the late producer and singer-songwriter Billy Miller (musician), Billy Miller. Her skill as a drummer earned her a "May I recommend?" nod from Bob Dylan on his XM ''Theme Time Radio Hour'' program (episode 37) in January 2007. Linna is part of the collective of musicians that emerged from the Cleveland, Ohio punk rock scene, including the Dead Boys and Pere Ubu. Väinö Linna
Väinö Linna (; 20 December 1920 – 21 April 1992) was a Finnish author. He gained literary fame with his third novel, ''Tuntematon sotilas'' ( ''The Unknown Soldier'', published in 1954), and consolidated his position with the trilogy ''Täällä Pohjantähden alla'' (''Under the North Star'', published in 1959–1963 and translated into English by Richard Impola). Both have been adapted to a film format on several occasions; ''The Unknown Soldier'' was first adapted into a film in 1955 and ''Under the North Star'' in 1968 as ''Here, Beneath the North Star'', both directed by Edvin Laine.
