Line S6 is a rapid transit line connecting Nanjing and Jurong in Jiangsu Province, China. It is long and has a maximum operating speed of . It has opened on 28 December 2021. Nanjing Metro
The Nanjing Metro is a rapid transit system serving the urban and suburban districts of Nanjing, the capital city of Jiangsu Province in the People's Republic of China. Proposals for a metro system serving Nanjing first began in 1984, with approval by the State Planning Commission granted in 1994. Construction began on the initial 16-station Line 1 in 1999, and opened in 2005. The system has 12 lines and 208 stations running on of track. It is operated and maintained by the Nanjing Metro Group Company. Future expansion plans include 30 lines set to open within the next few years, with several more awaiting approval to begin construction. Jurong, Jiangsu
Jurong () is a county-level city under the administration of Zhenjiang, Jiangsu province, China. In 129 BC, the then Prince of Changsha Liu Fa's son, Dang became the Marquis of Jurong. As he died soon, the lands enfeoffed to him became Jurong county in the next year. Jurong was under the jurisdiction of Nanjing historically, but it was annexed to the Prefecture of Zhenjiang in 1950, then Zhenjiang in 1983. Passing Loop
A passing loop (UK usage) or passing siding (North America) (also called a crossing loop, crossing place, refuge loop or, colloquially, a hole) is a place on a single line railway or tramway, often located at or near a station, where trains or trams travelling in opposite directions can pass each other. Trains/trams going in the same direction can also overtake, provided that the signalling arrangement allows it. A passing loop is double-ended and connected to the main track at both ends, though a dead end siding known as a refuge siding, which is much less convenient, can be used. A similar arrangement is used on the gauntlet track of cable railways and funiculars, and in passing places on single-track roads. Ideally, the loop should be longer than all trains needing to cross at that point. Nanjing Trams
Nanjing tram is the tram system of Nanjing city in the province Jiangsu of the China. There are two lines which are not connected to each other. The Nanjing tram is a wireless system, powered by lightweight Li-ion batteries. Batteries are charged via a pantograph at stations and terminals, and dynamically during acceleration. Charging time is 46 seconds at stations, and 10 minutes at terminals. 90% of the line is catenary-free. Lines Hexi trams opened on 13 August 2014. Qilin trams began test runs on 10 October 2016. Qixia District
Qixia District () is one of 11 districts of Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu province, China, straddling both sides of the Yangtze River. It has an area of 80 km2 and a population of 400,000. Natural and historical sites Qixia Mountain is in Qixia District. Qixia Temple, a Southern Tang Buddhist temple, is there. During the Qing dynasty, the Qianlong Emperor praised it as the most elegant mountain in Jinling. Jiangning District () is one of 11 districts of Nanjing, the capital of Jiangsu province, China. The District has a population of 1,025,000 and an area of 1600 square kilometers.
