Lindsay Owens
Lindsay Alexandra Owens is an American economic sociologist and academic who serves as the executive director of the Groundwork Collaborative, a Washington, D.C.-based non-profit public policy think tank. Owens is best known for her academic research of economic recessions in the United States and outspoken public commentary of the role that corporate profiteering plays in inflation. She previously served as a fellow at the liberal think tank Roosevelt Institute. The American Academy of Political and Social Science (AAPSS) was founded in 1889 to promote progress in the social sciences. Sparked by Professor Edmund J. James and drawing from members of the faculty of the University of Pennsylvania, Swarthmore College, and Bryn Mawr College, the Academy sought to establish communication between ''scientific thought and practical effort''. Bruce Prichart Western (born July 1, 1964) is an Australian-born American sociologist and a professor of sociology at Columbia University. Early life and education Western was born in Australia, to a white native Australian father who taught at the University of Queensland, and a Thai international student mother.
