Lindiwe Ntshalintshali
Leonah Lindiwe Ntshalintshali (; born 11 April 1977) is a South African politician who is currently Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Social Development in the provincial government of Mpumalanga. She was previously MEC for Arts, Sports, Culture and Recreation from 2019 to 2021 and Mayor of Witbank's Emalahleni Local Municipality from 2015 to 2018. A nurse by training, Ntshalintshali is a former member of the African National Congress (ANC) Youth League and entered government in 2006 as a local councillor in Emalahleni. While mayor, she became Deputy President of the South African Local Government Association. She left local government and the mayoral position in March 2018, when she became acting Provincial Secretary of the ANC in Mpumalanga. The Congress of South African Students (COSAS) is an anti-apartheid Student Organisation established in 1979 in the wake of the June 16 Soweto Uprisings in 1976 in South Africa. Background COSAS was formed in June 1979 after the South African Students' Movement was banned in 1977. It set out to organise black students at secondary, night, technical and teacher training schools as well as correspondence colleges. Middelburg, Mpumalanga
Middelburg is a large farming and industrial town in the South African province of Mpumalanga. History It was initially established as a halfway station between Lydenburg and Pretoria by the Republic of Lydenburg in 1860. That republic would merge with the South African Republic (ZAR) soon afterwards. The proposed town was established on two farms, ''Klipfontein'' and ''Keerom'' but when the Dutch Reformed Church established a church next door on the farm ''Sterkfontein'', the town would be moved there. It was established as Nasareth, in 1864 by the Voortrekkers on the banks of the Klein Olifants River. Ogies
Ogies is a settlement in Nkangala District Municipality in the Mpumalanga province of South Africa. It is a coal-mining town 29 km south-west of Witbank and 70 km north-east of Springs. History It was laid out in 1928 on the farm Oogiesfontein, 'fountain with many "eyes" or springs'. The name is derived from that of the farm. The town developed around train station built there in 1928. The original name of the town was Oogies but that changed to the current version in 1939.
