Lindiwe Benedicta Hendricks (born 29 July 1957 in Vryburg, Northern Cape) is a South African politician and a member of the National Assembly of South Africa, National Assembly. She has served as Minister of Water and Environmental Affairs in the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry (South Africa), Department of Water Affairs and Forestry from 22 May 2006 to 10 May 2009. She previously served as Department of Minerals and Energy (South Africa), Minister of Minerals and Energy from 2005 to 2006, and Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry from 1999 to 2005. She was a partner of Ngwane & Ngwane Attorneys, a law firm based in Durban, from 1986 to 1988, and was an attorney at the Supreme Court from 1995 to 1999. Thabo Mbeki
Thabo Mvuyelwa Mbeki KStJ (; born 18 June 1942) is a South African politician who was the second president of South Africa from 14 June 1999 to 24 September 2008, when he resigned at the request of his party, the African National Congress (ANC). Before that, he was deputy president under Nelson Mandela between 1994 and 1999. The son of Govan Mbeki, a renowned ANC intellectual, Mbeki has been involved in ANC politics since 1956, when he joined the ANC Youth League, and has been a member of the party's National Executive Committee since 1975. Born in the Transkei, he left South Africa aged twenty to attend university in England, and spent almost three decades in exile abroad, until the ANC was unbanned in 1990. The Department of Water and Sanitation is one of the departments of the South African government. It is responsible for the state of water and sanitation in South Africa. In May 2009, following the election of Jacob Zuma, the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry was divided, with the forestry responsibility being transferred to the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries. Minister Of Water And Environmental Affairs
The Minister of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (formerly Minister of Environmental Affairs) is the member of the Cabinet of South Africa. The post was created by President Jacob Zuma, in his cabinet announced on 10 May 2009; it partially replaced the posts of Minister of Environmental Affairs and Tourism and Minister of Water Affairs and Forestry. The first holder of the position was Buyelwa Sonjica; Edna Molewa served in the position from 2010 until her death in 2018. Nomvula Mokonyane succeeded Molewa. It has also been described as one of the most efficient ministries currently in South Africa.
