Lincoln High School is a public high school located in the Goose Hollow neighborhood of Portland, Oregon, United States. It was established in 1869 as Portland High School. Student profile In the 2017–2018 school year, Lincoln High School's student population consisted of 71.1% White, 10.4% Asian, 8.3% Hispanic, 1.3% African American, 0.2% Native American, 0.1% Pacific Islander, and 8.4% mixed race. About 91% of its students live within the school's neighborhood. In 2008, 89% of the school's seniors received a high school diploma. Of 372 students, 330 graduated, 34 dropped out, four received a modified diploma, and four were still enrolled in high school the following year. The Silver Legion of America, commonly known as the Silver Shirts, was an underground American Fascism, fascist and Nazi sympathizer organization founded by William Dudley Pelley and headquartered in Asheville, North Carolina. History Pelley was a former journalist, novelist and screenwriter turned spiritualist who, by 1931, had begun to promote antisemitic views, asserting that Jews were possessed by demons. Lincoln Hall is an historic building located in Portland, Oregon, built in 1912. It is the home of the theatre, film, and performing arts departments at Portland State University. It was originally home to Lincoln High School before becoming a part of the Portland State College in 1955. History Designed by Morris H. Whitehouse of Whitehouse and Fouilhoux Architecture, it was constructed as the second home of Lincoln High School in 1912. The 45-room schoolhouse was constructed on a former cow pasture belonging to Jacob Kamm, who was involved in steamboat shipping on the Columbia River. In 1937, during its use as Lincoln High School, the building served 1580 students. The South Park Blocks form a city park in downtown Portland, Oregon.
