Lina Lopes
Lina Maria Cardoso Lopes (born 28 May 1961) is a Portuguese teacher, trade unionist and politician. A member of the centre-right Social Democratic Party (PSD), Lopes was first elected to the Assembly of the Republic in 2019 as a representative of the Lisbon constituency. Early life and education Lina Maria Cardoso Lopes was born in Setúbal, Portugal on 28 May 1961. Her father was a businessman who had been held at gunpoint following Portugal's Carnation Revolution in 1974, when the Estado Novo dictatorship had been overthrown. She has said that witnessing that conditioned her subsequent political views. Lopes obtained a degree in chemistry at the science faculty of the University of Lisbon in 1988. Later studies included a postgraduate course in public health at the '' Universidade Lusófona'', a master's in food engineering in 2002 from the '' Instituto Superior Técnico'' of Lisbon and a diploma in information systems from the Complutense University of Madrid. Lisbon (Assembly Of The Republic Constituency)
Lisbon ( pt, Lisboa) is one of the 22 multi-member constituencies of the Assembly of the Republic, the national legislature of Portugal. The constituency was established in 1976 when the Assembly of the Republic was established by the constitution following the restoration of democracy. It is conterminous with the district of Lisbon. The constituency currently elects 48 of the 230 members of the Assembly of the Republic using the closed party-list proportional representation electoral system. At the 2022 legislative election it had 1,919,958 registered electors. 2019 Portuguese Legislative Election
The 2019 Portuguese legislative election was held on 6 October 2019. All 230 seats to the Assembly of the Republic were contested. In a campaign dominated by the Tancos airbase robbery (in which former Defense Minister Azeredo Lopes (2015–2018) was accused of trying to cover-up the finding of the stolen weapons in the robbery), but also with the good economic situation in Portugal, the Socialist Party (PS) won the elections with 36% of the votes and 108 seats, a gain of 22 compared with 2015. The PS won the big districts of Porto and Lisbon, although Porto was closer than expected, and was able to gain districts from the PSD, like Aveiro and Viana do Castelo, by razor thin margins. The PS won the city of Lisbon, however with a smaller share of the vote compared with 2015, 33% vs 35%, and, surprisingly, lost the city of Porto to the PSD. Diogo Pacheco De Amorim
Diogo Velez Mouta Pacheco de Amorim (born 10 March 1949) is a Portuguese politician of the Chega and since 2022 a member of the Assembly of the Republic representing Porto. Biography Pacheco de Amorim was born in Lisbon in 1949 and is the grandson of a monarchist politician close to António de Oliveira Salazar. He studied philosophy at Coimbra University. During his time as a student, he was active in the Independent Movement for the National Reconstruction / Party of the Portuguese Right and organizations that contested decolonization. He later became an advisor to deputy Prime Minister Diogo Freitas do Amaral. In 2019, Pacheco de Amorim left CDS – People's Party of which he had been a longstanding member and joined Chega. The AD – Democratic Alliance ( pt, AD – Aliança Democrática, AD) is a centre-right political alliance in Portugal. Composed of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), CDS – People's Party (CDS–PP) and People's Monarchist Party (PPM), the alliance is a relaunch of the eponymous alliance which contested elections between 1979 and 1983.
