Lina Bennani
Lina Bennani (born 4 July 1991) is a Moroccan former professional tennis player. Born in Casablanca, Bennani participated in six Fed Cup ties for Morocco between 2008 and 2011, mostly as a doubles player. She won her only singles rubber, over Malta's Elaine Genovese in 2010. Bennani, who won three ITF doubles titles, competed in the main draw of her home WTA Tour tournament, the Morocco Open, once in singles and four times in doubles. Tennis
Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. The Morocco Open or Rabat Grand Prix (for sponsorship reasons called the Grand Prix de SAR La Princesse Lalla Meryem), is a women's professional tennis tournament currently held in Rabat, Morocco. This WTA Tour event is classified as an International tournament and is played on outdoor clay courts. Tímea Babos is the doubles record holder with three wins. Patricia Wartusch, Émilie Loit, Iveta Benešová won both singles and doubles titles the same year. History The event started in July 2001 in Casablanca, Morocco. It stayed in that city until 2005, when it was moved to Rabat the first time. In 2007, the tournament changed location again, this time to Fez. The 2011 Pan Arab Games also known as the 12th Pan Arab Games took place in Doha, Qatar from 6 to 23 December 2011. This was the first time that the country had hosted the multi-sport event.
