Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship
The Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Lyons of Limerick County Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship and abbreviated to the Limerick PIHC) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Limerick County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the top-ranking intermediate clubs in the county of Limerick in Ireland. It is the second tier overall in the entire Limerick hurling championship system. The Limerick Premier Intermediate Championship was introduced in 2014 following a split in the existing Limerick Intermediate Hurling Championship. It was the fourth adult county championship to come into existence in Limerick. In its present format, the Limerick Premier Intermediate Championship uses a round-robin format with each team playing 7 matches (playing all 7 other teams once). 2021 Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship
The 2021 Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship was the eighth staging of the Limerick Premier Intermediate Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Limerick County Board in 2014. The championship began on 3 September 2021 and ended on 24 October 2021. The final was played on 24 October 2021 at the TUS Gaelic Grounds in Limerick, between Mungret/St. Paul's and Cappamore, in what was their first ever meeting in a final. Mungret/St. Paul's won the match by 4–17 to 1–12 to claim their first championship title in the grade. Liam Lynch was the championship's top scorer with 2-44. Knockaderry () is a village in County Limerick, Ireland. The population of the Knockaderry electoral division (including the village and surrounding rural catchment) is approximately 500 people. Name and location The name Knockaderry derives from the Irish ''Cnoc an Doire'', meaning 'hill of the oak-wood'. There is still an oak grove evident near the village. It is a long single-street village. The other village in the parish is Cloncagh, originally spelt 'Clouncagh', which comes from the Irish: Cluain Cath, meaning 'the meadow of the battle'. During the ministry of Canon Lyons as parish priest, the "u" in Clouncagh was dropped, although it can still be seen on some of the signs entering the parish. 2014 Limerick Senior Hurling Championship
The 2014 Limerick Senior Hurling Championship was the 120th staging of the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship since its establishment by the Limerick County Board in 1887. The championship began on 2 May 2014 and ended on 19 October 2014. Na Piarsaigh were the defending champions. However, they were defeated in the final by Kilmallock, who won by 1–15 to 0–14. Na Piarsaigh had earlier defeated Kilmallock in the group stage. Knockainey and Granagh-Ballingarry were relegated from the championship. Teams Overview A major restructuring of the Limerick Senior Hurling Championship at the end of 2013 resulted in the number of participating teams for 2014 being reduced from sixteen to twelve.
