Likina Amebaw (born 30 November 1997) is an Ethiopian long distance runner. Career In April 2021, she won the cross country at the Almond Blossom Cross Country in Albufeira. She won again in Albufeira in February 2023. In October 2023, she won the first Gold event of that season’s World Athletics Cross Country Tour, claiming victory at the Cross Internacional Zornotza in Amorebieta. In November 2023, she won the Cross Internacional de Soria, a Gold level meeting on the World Athletics Cross Country Tour, in Soria, Spain. In April 2024, she ran a personal best time of 29:56 to win the Paris for the Festival of Running 10km road race. She finished fifth in the 5000 metres at the Diamond League event the 2024 Meeting International Mohammed VI d'Athlétisme in Morocco in May 2024. The World Athletics Cross Country Tour is an annual series of cross country running competitions which are recognised by the World Athletics (formerly known as the IAAF). Athletes accumulate points in the series' cross country meets during the season, which typically begins in September and finishes in March, with top three performances counting towards the standings. The Diamond League is an annual series of elite track and field athletic competitions comprising fourteen of the best invitational athletics meetings. The series sits in the top tier of the World Athletics (formerly known as the IAAF) one-day meeting competitions. The inaugural season was in 2010. 2024 Meeting International Mohammed VI D'Athlétisme
The 2024 Meeting International Mohammed VI d'Athlétisme was the 15th edition of the annual outdoor track and field meeting in Morocco. Held on 19 May at the Stade de Marrakech, it was the fourth leg of the 2024 Diamond League – the highest level international track and field circuit. Though the meeting is typically held in Rabat, in 2024 it was held in Marrakesh. At the meeting, Prudence Sekgodiso set an 800 m world lead while Shericka Jackson won her Diamond League opener at 200 m, although her time of 22.82 seconds was not as fast as expected. Bislett Games
The Bislett Games is an annual track and field meeting at the Bislett Stadium in Oslo, Norway. Previously one of the IAAF Golden League events, it is now part of the Diamond League. History The first international athletics meeting at Bislett was held in 1924. Until 1937 the competitions are known as "The American Meetings". Different organizers staged the meetings between 1947 and 1965 until the three athletics associations BUL, Vidar and Tjalve formed the Bislett Alliance. At this year Arne Haukvik founded the Bislett Games. He was a former politician and director of the meeting, who used to invite the athletes, sponsors and the press to his home for his traditional "strawberry party" the day before the event each year. He died of cancer in 2002 at age 76. The tradition however is continued.
