Lieke Marsman
Lieke Marsman (born 25 July 1990) is a Dutch poet. She is the Dutch Poet Laureate Dichter des Vaderlands/nowiki>">Dichter des Vaderlands">Dichter des Vaderlands/nowiki> for the period 2021 to 2023. Biography Marsman was born in Den Bosch and grew up in Zaltbommel and did her final school exams in 2008 at the Cambium College. After that she studied philosophy at the University of Amsterdam. Her first publications were included in ''De Gids'' and ''Vrij Nederland''. Via a blog on the website ''Tirade.nu'' she commentated and translated the work of her contemporaries. In 2010 her debut collection of poems appeared with the title 'Wat ik mijzelf graag voorhoud'' It received three literary prizes in 2011 and more than 3,000 editions were sold. Between January 2013 and March 2015 Marsman was part of the editorial team of the literary journal ''Tirade''. 's-Hertogenbosch
s-Hertogenbosch (), colloquially known as Den Bosch (), is a city and municipality in the Netherlands with a population of 157,486. It is the capital of the province of North Brabant and its fourth largest by population. Dichter Des Vaderlands
The Dichter des Vaderlands (''Poet of the Fatherland'') is an unofficial title for the Poet laureate of the Netherlands. This position was created by the Dutch newspaper NRC Handelsblad, the Nederlandse Programma Stichting and the foundation Poetry International in January 2000. ''De Gids'' (meaning ''The Guide'' in English) is the oldest Dutch literary periodical still published today. It was founded in 1837 by Everhardus Johannes Potgieter and Christianus Robidé van der Aa. Bergen, North Holland
Bergen () is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. Its North Sea beaches and forests make it a popular destination for tourists. In 2001, the municipality was formed from a merger of the former municipalities of Egmond, Schoorl, and the smaller community of Bergen proper that had existed since 1811. Since about 1900, Bergen has been the home of many painters, writers and architects. Some of the work of this "Bergen School" is on exhibit at Museum Kranenburgh. NPO 2 (''NPO twee'', formerly Nederland 2 until 2014) is a Dutch television channel, sister channel of NPO 1 and NPO 3. It was established on 1 October 1964 at 20:00, initially with a 2.5 hours schedule until 22:30. ''Zomergasten'' ("Summer guests", an allusion to migratory birds) is a Dutch television programme broadcast each summer by public broadcaster VPRO. The programme was first aired in 1988. Each episode takes up an entire Sunday evening, lasting typically three hours. It consists of an in-depth studio interview with a notable Dutch, Belgian or other Dutch-speaking foreigner, interspersed with cinema or television footage selected by the guest, which is subsequently discussed. Guests include writers, scientists, television personalities, politicians or business people. ''Zomergasten'' has become one of the signature programmes of Dutch public television.
