Liceo Naval (rugby)
Centro de Gradudados del Liceo Naval Militar, or simply Liceo Naval, is an Argentine sports club formed by graduates from Liceo Naval "Almirante Brown" (Almirante Brown Naval High School), one of the two educative institutions of the Argentine Navy. The field is located in Núñez, Buenos Aires, close to the Ciudad Universitaria. Liceo Naval's senior rugby union team competes in Primera División B, the third division of the Unión de Rugby de Buenos Aires league system., while the women's field hockey team plays the Torneo Metropolitano, the main competition of Buenos Aires. Other sports practised at Liceo Naval are football, rowing and tennis. Núñez, Buenos Aires
Núñez is a ''barrio'' or neighbourhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is on the northern edge of the city on the banks of the Rio de la Plata. The ''barrio'' of Belgrano is to the southeast; Saavedra and Coghlan are to the west; and Vicente López, in Buenos Aires Province, is to the north. The ''barrio'' has an area of 3.9 km² and a population of over 50,000. It is bounded by Avenida Cabildo and Avenida Congreso, Crisólogo Larralde, Zapiola, Udaondo and Cantilo Streets, and Avenida General Paz. Field Hockey
Field hockey is a team sport structured in standard hockey format, in which each team plays with ten outfield players and a goalkeeper. Teams must drive a round hockey ball by hitting it with a hockey stick towards the rival team's shooting circle and then into the goal. The match is won by the team that scores the most goals. Matches are played on grass, watered turf, artificial turf, synthetic field, or indoor boarded surface. The stick is made of wood, carbon fibre, fibreglass, or a combination of carbon fibre and fibreglass in different quantities. The stick has two sides; one rounded and one flat; only the flat face of the stick is allowed to progress the ball. During play, goalkeepers are the only players allowed to touch the ball with any part of their body. A player's hand is considered part of the stick if holding the stick. Argentina XV, formerly known as the Jaguares, are the second national rugby union team in Argentina, after the full national side, the Pumas. Overview They already represented Argentina at the South American Rugby Championship, in 2001, 2002, 2005, 2009 and 2011. Argentina second side won all the South American competitions they have entered and never were defeated yet by another country in these tournaments. They competed in the Nations Cup in 2006 and 2007, winning the tournament in 2006, and in the Churchill Cup in 2008 and 2009. Juan Martín Fernández Lobbe
Juan Martín Fernández Lobbe (born 19 November 1981 in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine rugby union footballer. He currently plays for Toulon in the French Top 14, having moved from Sale Sharks in England's Guinness Premiership. He previously played for Liceo Naval. He usually plays in the back row. He made his debut for the Sale Sharks in 2006 against the Leicester Tigers. His debut season for the Sharks was the 2006–07 Guinness Premiership. He was Sale's first XV captain. He made his international debut for Argentina in 2004 against Uruguay. He was a part of the Pumas team that defeated Wales at home in a two Test series, scoring a try in one game. Carlos Ignacio Fernández Lobbe
Carlos Ignacio Fernández Lobbe (born 20 November 1974 in Buenos Aires) is a retired Argentine rugby union player. He last played with English side, Bath Rugby in the Aviva Premiership. He has also represented Argentina on numerous occasions, including at the 1999, 2003 and 2007 Rugby World Cups. He previously played for Sale Sharks, Castres, Bordeaux and the Liceo Naval club, moving to Northampton Saints for the 2008–09 season, where he made his debut against Worcester Warriors. In the 2005–2006 season, Lobbe started the final as Sale Sharks won their first ever Premiership title. He was also an exceptionable leader, captaining Northampton Saints throughout the 2008/2009 season due to injury to the then club captain, Bruce Reihana. Eduardo Simone (born Buenos Aires, 16 October 1974) is an Argentine rugby union footballer. He plays as a centre. He started at a very young age playing for his beloved "Liceo Naval", in Buenos Aires, where he eventually got back to finish his career. He played for Bristol Shoguns, in England, from 1999 to 2001.
