The Liberal Party – Freedom to Choose ( fi, Liberaalipuolue – Vapaus valita, ), formerly known as the Whisky Party ( fi, Kansallinen Viskipuolue, sv, Whiskypartiet), is a classical-liberal Finnish political party, founded in 2015 and admitted to the register of political parties in 2016. Its chairman is Lassi Kivinen. Platform The party has a liberal view on alcohol policies, but claims a liberal platform overall. Its platform is to promote individual freedom, entrepreneurship, and decision-making based on scientific research. It opposes the political power of interest groups. It aims to decrease prohibitive restrictions, such as limitations on opening hours of restaurants and strict licensing of taxis. Tax reductions are also on its agenda. Parliamentary elections were held in Finland on 19 April 2015, with advance voting taking place from 8 to 14 April. 2017 Finnish Municipal Elections
Municipal elections were held in Finland on 9 April 2017 with advance voting between 29 March and 4 April. The councils in 295 municipalities in Finland (excluding Åland) were elected. Several municipalities altered the size of their councils (mainly because of municipal mergers) before the elections which resulted in reduction of seats available from 9,674 to 8,999. Opinion polls Poll results are listed in the table below in reverse chronological order, showing the most recent first.
