Liam Silke
Liam Silke (born 22 November 1994) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who plays at senior level for the Galway county team. He is a nephew of All-Ireland SFC winning Galway captain Ray Silke. Silke plays his club football for Corofin. Silke is an All-Ireland Senior Club Football Championship winner, having been part of the Corofin team that beat Slaughtneil in the 2015 Final. 2015 Connacht Senior Football Championship
The 2015 Connacht Senior Football Championship was the 116th instalment of the annual Connacht Senior Football Championship held under the auspices of Connacht GAA. It was one of four provincial competitions in the 2015 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. Mayo entered the competition as defending Connacht champions and retained the title after a 6-25 to 2-11 win against Sligo in the final on 19 July. The draw to decide the fixtures was made on 10 October 2014. As in previous competitions, the opponents of London and New York in the opening round were decided in advance. The teams that visit the 'Exiles' are chosen on a cyclical basis. As in the 2010 Connacht Championship, Roscommon faced London and Galway faced New York. GAA GPA All Stars Awards
The Gaelic Athletic Association-Gaelic Players' Association All Stars Awards (often known simply as the All Stars) are awarded annually to the best player in each of the 15 playing positions in Gaelic football and hurling. Additionally, one player in each code is selected as Player of the Year. The awards were instituted in 1971. Since 2011 they have been presented jointly by the Gaelic Athletic Association and the representative body for inter-county players, the Gaelic Players Association. Each player who receives a nomination is given a medallion marking the milestone. It is considered "the most coveted sporting award scheme in the country". Equivalent awards exist for ladies' football, rounders and camogie. 2016 Connacht Senior Football Championship
The 2016 Connacht Senior Football Championship will be the 117th installment of the annual Connacht Senior Football Championship held under the auspices of Connacht GAA. It is one of the four provincial competitions of the 2016 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship. Mayo entered the competition as defending champions but were beaten by Galway in the semi-finals. Galway went on to win their first title in eight years by beating Roscommon after a replay. Due to Covid-19 it's still last meeting of Mayo hosting London and Roscommon day for New York there 2021 meetings were both cancelled before the draws had taken place the next time we will see those rotational fixtures will possibly in 2026. The New York county football team represents the New York metropolitan area in men's Gaelic football and is governed by New York GAA, the County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. The team competes in three of the four major annual inter-county competitions; the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship, Tailteann Cup and the Connacht Senior Football Championship; it does not currently compete in the National Football League.
