Li Jing (deity)
Li Jing, also known as Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King Li is a figure in Chinese mythology and a god in Chinese folk religion. He carries a tower that can capture any spirit, demon or god within its walls. He also appears in the classic Chinese novels ''Journey to the West'' and '' Fengshen Yanyi'' (''Investiture of the Gods''). He is an analogue of Vaisravana. Mythology Li Jing is renowned throughout the Shang Dynasty as a high ranking commander officer of the Old Pond Pass. His wife is Lady Yin, and he has three sons, Jinzha, Muzha, and Nezha. Li Jing (571 – July 2, 649), courtesy name Yaoshi, posthumously known as Duke Jingwu of Wei (also spelled as Duke of Wey), was a Chinese military general, strategist, and writer who lived in the early Tang dynasty and was most active during the reign of Emperor Taizong. In 630, Li Jing defeated the Göktürks, led by Jieli Khan, with just 3,000 cavalry soldiers in a surprise attack, allowing the Tang Empire to subjugate the Göktürks and reduce them to the status of a vassal under the Tang Empire. Li Jing and Li Shiji are considered the two most prominent early Tang generals. During the Sui dynasty Li Jing was born in 571, during the Sui dynasty's predecessor state Northern Zhou. His clan was from the Chang'an region. Li Jing (; 1 March 1930 – 30 December 2022) was a Chinese general in the People's Liberation Army who served as commander of the People's Liberation Army Naval Air Force from 1983 to 1990. Li was a delegate to the 7th National People's Congress. He was a member of the Standing Committee of the 9th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Jing Li is a professor at Rutgers University. She and her team are engaged in solid state, inorganic and inorganic-organic hybrid materials research. Her current research focuses on designing and developing new materials for applications in the field of renewable and sustainable energy. Li Ching (; born 7 March 1975 in Doumen, Guangdong, China) is a table tennis player from Hong Kong. He is best known for the joint silver medal he won for Hong Kong at the Athens Olympic in 2004. Career Born in Guangdong, Li joined the Chinese national table tennis team in 1990, and won second place at the men's single table tennis competition at the National Cup in China. Li's performance during his time at the Chinese national team fluctuated wildly, due primarily to switching of tactics. In 1994, Li withdrew from the Chinese national team for health reason, and moved to Hong Kong to join its national table tennis team. During Li's time on the Hong Kong team, he paired up with Ko Lai Chak as a duo, and achieved legendary status after the duo's silver medal win in Athens.
