Lhendup Dorji is a Bhutanese international footballer who currently plays for Lonestar Kashmir FC in the I-League 2nd Division. Career Club career Winning hearts of his natives in Paro for being best footballer, he began playing school and club football with Ugyen Academy at the age of 14. He won 2013 Bhutan National League with Ugyen Academy The midfielder was also the part of Ugyen Academy FC squad which played in the 2014 AFC President's Cup. He went on to represent the country as an under-19 national team and faced football giants of Middle Eastern nations like Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain. Paro, Bhutan
Paro ( dz, སྤ་རོ་) is a town and seat of Paro District, in the Paro Valley of Bhutan. It is a historic town with many sacred sites and historical buildings scattered throughout the area. It is also home to Paro International Airport, Bhutan's sole international airport. Paro International Airport is served by Drukair. Thimphu FC
Thimphu Football Club was a professional football club from Bhutan, based at the Changlimithang Stadium. History The club finished in a qualifying position during the 2001 season and were then drawn in Group A along with Paro and Drukpol. They managed a win against Paro and then drew with Drukpol to top the group and qualified for the semifinals. Although they lost to Samtse in the semifinals, they beat Drukpol in the third place final to finish third overall. Thimpu also participated in 2002, although their final position is not known. The only known result involving Thimpu is a 5–1 victory over Drukpol. The Bhutan Premier League, currently known as the Bank of Bhutan Premier League due to sponsorship reasons, is the men's highest division of professional football in Bhutan. It also provides Bhutan's entrant for continental competition, the AFC Cup. Format The Bhutan Premier League operates as the highest level of football in Bhutan. Competing teams in the league play each other twice on a home and away basis. Previously, when the A-Division was the country's top league, all matches were played at Changlimithang, the country's national stadium, making home and away distinctions essentially moot. Whilst the Thimphu-based teams still play their matches at that ground, the regional teams maintain their own stadiums, so that genuine home and away fixtures now take place. I-League 2nd Division
I-League 2, previously known as I-League 2nd Division and officially known as or Hero I-League 2 (for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp), is an Indian men's professional football league. It is the 3rd tier of Indian football, behind Indian Super League and I-League. It operates as a system of promotion with I-League (final qualifying phase of state leagues teams). In 2020, due to COVID-19 pandemic in India, the league format was changed into I-League Qualifiers. To avoid confusion with I-League being the second tier, the league was renamed to I-League 2 by AIFF in 2022. The 2019 I-League 2nd Division (known as Hero 2018–19 I-League 2nd Division for sponsorship reasons), was the 12th season of the I-League 2nd Division, the second division Indian football league, since its establishment in 2008. 2015 SAFF Championship
The 2015 SAFF Championship (officially known as the SAFF Suzuki Cup 2015 for sponsorship reasons) was the 11th edition of the SAFF Championship, the biennial international men's football championship of South Asia organized by SAFF. It was held in India from 23 December 2015 to 3 January 2016. Heading into the tournament, Afghanistan were the defending champions of the tournament, with it also being the last time they can officially take part, as they have become members of the newly formed Central Asian Football Association. Originally scheduled to take place in July 2015, monsoon season and schedule congestion led to the tournament being postponed to late December. 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualification – AFC Second Round
The second round of AFC matches for 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification (and 2019 AFC Asian Cup qualification) was played from 24 May 2015 to 29 March 2016. Format A total of forty teams (teams ranked 1–34 in the AFC entrant list and six first round winners) were divided into eight groups of five teams to play home-and-away round-robin matches. The eight group winners and the four best group runners-up advanced to the third round of FIFA World Cup qualification as well as qualify for the 2019 AFC Asian Cup finals.
