2018–19 I-League 2nd Division
The 2019 I-League 2nd Division (known as Hero 2018–19 I-League 2nd Division for sponsorship reasons), was the 12th season of the I-League 2nd Division, the second division Indian football league, since its establishment in 2008. The league was played from January to April 2019. TRAU won the title and earned the promotion to 2019–20 I-League. Teams Nominated teams At the start of the season 23 teams were nominated by the state associations for participation in this edition of the league. I-League 2nd Division
I-League 2, previously known as I-League 2nd Division and officially known as or Hero I-League 2 (for sponsorship ties with Hero MotoCorp), is an Indian men's professional football league. It is the 3rd tier of Indian football, behind Indian Super League and I-League. It operates as a system of promotion with I-League (final qualifying phase of state leagues teams). In 2020, due to COVID-19 pandemic in India, the league format was changed into I-League Qualifiers. To avoid confusion with I-League being the second tier, the league was renamed to I-League 2 by AIFF in 2022. The 2nd Division league was introduced from the 2008 season, having been previously known as the National Football League 2nd Division. State FA's nominate teams who have finished at the top of their respective state leagues (or passing the required criteria). Ahmedabad Racquet Academy Football Club (commonly known as ARA FC Gujarat) is an Indian professional football club based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. They have competed in the I-League 2nd Division. Shirsh Bihar United FC
Shirsh Bihar United is a professional association football, football club from Bihar, based in Muzaffarpur. It currently participates in Bihar State Soccer League. History Shirsh Bihar United FC was first nominated for I-League 2nd division in 2018, but did not participate in the league because they had not completed one year. On 20 October 2019, Bihar United played their last league match of District football league Motihari and became champions of A division. Fateh Hyderabad Associated Football Club, also known as Fateh Hyderabad FC, is an Indian professional football club based in Hyderabad, Telangana, that last competed in the I-League 2nd Division, then second tier of Indian football league system. United Sikkim Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Gangtok, Sikkim. Founded in 2011, the club usually competed in the Sikkim Premier Division League. United Sikkim is the only club from Sikkim to have played in the I-League, one of the top flights of Indian football league system. Chhinga Veng Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Aizawl, Mizoram. The club competes in the Mizoram Premier League. The club made its I-League 2nd Division debut in the 2018–19 season, and finished as runners-up. History Chhinga Veng FC was established in 1985.
