''Leyla Everlasting'' ( tr, 9 Kere Leyla, lit=9 Times Leyla) is a 2020 Turkish comedy film directed by Ezel Akay and written by Akay, Adnan Yıldırım, Özlem Lale and Uğur Saatçi, starring Demet Akbağ, Haluk Bilginer, Elçin Sangu, Fırat Tanış and Alican Yücesoy. Originally to be theatrically released by BKM Film on March 20 2020, the film's distribution rights were sold to Netflix due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was released on 4 December 2020 on Netflix. Ezel Akay (born 20 January 1961) is a Turkish film actor, film director and film producer. Life and work After Ezel Akay graduated as a mechanical engineer from the Boğaziçi University, he was trained as actor at the US-American Villanova University. Before Ezel Akay started to work in the Turkish film business and co-founded the Turkish production company ''IFR'', he worked as copywriter, theatre director and –actor. Demet Akbağ (née İybar; born 23 December 1959) is a Turkish theatre and film actress. Biography Demet Akbağ was born on 23 December 1959 in Denizli as the third child of Benan and Oktay İybar. Her maternal family is of Turkmen descent. Her paternal family is of Kurdish descent. Her father's religion is Alevism.
