Lewis Murphy (rugby League)
Lewis Murphy (born 24 March 2002) is an English professional rugby league footballer who plays as a er for the Sydney Roosters in the NRL. Playing career Wakefield Trinity Murphy signed a professional contract with Wakefield in July 2021 having come through their academy and impressing at U19 level. Murphy made a quick impression in his first season, scoring seven tries in his first 13 appearances in the Super League. He scored a hat-trick for Wakefield against Hull F.C. on 19 August 2022 including an acrobatic first, in a triumph which all but secured his relegation threatened club with their Super League status for the 2023 season. In round 26 of the 2022 Super League season, Murphy scored four tries for Wakefield in their 34-18 victory over an understrength St Helens RFC team. On 7 March 2023, Murphy was ruled out for the remainder of the 2023 Super League season with an ACL injury. Wakefield Trinity
Wakefield Trinity is a professional rugby league club in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, England, that plays in the Super League. One of the original twenty-two clubs that formed the Northern Rugby Football Union in 1895, between 1999 and 2016 the club was known as Wakefield Trinity Wildcats. The club has played at Belle Vue Stadium in Wakefield since 1895 and has rivalries with Castleford Tigers and Featherstone Rovers. Sydney Roosters
The Sydney Roosters are an Australian professional Rugby league, Rugby League Football Club based in the Eastern Suburbs (Sydney) and parts of inner Sydney. The club competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition. The Roosters have won fifteen New South Wales Rugby League premiership, New South Wales Rugby League (NSWRL) and National Rugby League titles, and several other competitions. A hat-trick or hat trick is the achievement of a generally positive feat three times in a match, or another achievement based on the number three. Origin The term first appeared in 1858 in cricket, to describe H. H. Stephenson taking three wickets with three consecutive deliveries. The National Rugby League (NRL) is an Australasian rugby league club competition which contains clubs from New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, the Australian Capital Territory and New Zealand. The NRL formed in 1998 as a joint partnership between the Australian Rugby League (ARL) and media giant News Corporation-controlled Super League, in the aftermath of the 1990s Super League war, in which both ran parallel to each other in 1997. Willie Poching
Willie Poching is a New Zealand professional rugby league football coach and former player. He is the former head-coach of Wakefield Trinity in the Super League. When he was appointed head coach of Wakefield, he became the first Samoan head coach of a first grade rugby league club. A former New Zealand, and Samoa international representative forward, he spent his career playing for clubs in New Zealand, Australia and finally England, winning the Super League championship with Leeds Rhinos in 2004.
