In the north-east of the locality is Mount Steele at . The southern and central part of the locality are at lower elevations of under while the very northernmost part of the locality falls away to . Due to this geography Sandy Creek and its tributaries flow from the south of the locality merging into a single stream through the gap between the mountains of the north-east and Mount Steele and below to the northernmost part of the locality. Allan is a rural locality in the Southern Downs Region, Queensland, Australia. It was formerly known as Sandy Creek. In the , Allan had a population of 87 people. Geography The Condamine River forms the north-eastern boundary of the locality, while Sandy Creek flows through the locality from Leslie Dam (the locality) to the west towards Leslie to the north-west (eventually becoming a tributary of the Condamine River.
