Lesley-Ann Skeete
Lesley-Ann Skeete (born 20 February 1967) is a female English former track and field athlete who competed in the 100 metres hurdles. She represented Great Britain at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul and the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona. She also won a bronze medal at the 1990 Commonwealth Games in Auckland. Career Skeete was born in Sydenham, England and was raised in Swindon. She first came to prominence in 1985 as a teenager, winning the first of two English Schools 100 metres hurdles titles and placing third at the UK Championships behind Judy Simpson and Judith Rodgers in 13.76 seconds. She began 1986 by claiming her first senior national title at the AAAs indoor championships, winning the 60 m hurdles in 8.22 secs. In the summer of 1986, Skeete placed second in the 100 m hurdles at both the UK Championships and the AAA Championships behind Sally Gunnell and ahead of both Wendy Jeal and Olympic silver medalist Shirley Strong. Sally Jane Janet Gunnell (born 29 July 1966) is a British former track and field athlete, active between 1984 and 1997, who won the 1992 Olympic gold medal in the 400 metres hurdles. During a golden 24-month period between 1992 and 1994, Gunnell won every international event open to her, claiming Olympic Games, World Championship, European Championship, Commonwealth Games, Goodwill Games, IAAF World Cup and European Cup golds in the event, and breaking the British, European and World records in it. She is the only female British athlete to have won all four 'majors'; Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth titles, and was the first female 400 metres hurdler in history to win the Olympic and World titles and break the world record. Kim Hagger
Kim Hagger (born 2 December 1961) is a retired English athlete who competed mainly in the heptathlon and the long jump. She represented Great Britain at the 1984 Summer Olympics, 1984 Los Angeles Olympics and the 1988 Summer Olympics, 1988 Seoul Olympics. Career Hagger was born in Plaistow, Newham, Plaistow, Essex. She won the AAA Championships Under 15 long jump title in 1975 and 1976, and the Under 17 title in 1977 and 1978. She competed at her first Olympic Games in Athletics at the 1984 Summer Olympics, Los Angeles 1984, finishing eighth in the heptathlon with 6127 points. In 1986, she reached her peak at both heptathlon and long jump. In May, she achieved a score of 6259 in Arles. As of 2014, this still ranks her sixth on the UK all-time heptathlon list. The 1st IAAF World Indoor Championships in Athletics were held in Indianapolis, United States from March 6 to March 8, 1987.
