Les Dodd
Les Dodd (born 11 February 1954) is an English former professional snooker player. He was runner-up in the 1987 English Professional Championship. Career Dodd was born on 11 February 1954 in Stockport, and turned professional in 1982. In his first professional season, he reached the televised stages of the 1983 World Snooker Championship, where he lost 7–10 to Eddie Charlton. Dodd's only professional final was the 1987 English Professional Championship; there, he was defeated 9–5 by Tony Meo, having earlier eliminated Tony Knowles, Barry West, Mike Hallett and reigning World Champion Joe Johnson. He reached the quarter-finals of two ranking events in 1990; the British Open, where he lost 2–5 to Steve James, and the Asian Open, where Mike Hallett beat him 5–4. Stockport
Stockport is a town and borough in Greater Manchester, England, south-east of Manchester, south-west of Ashton-under-Lyne and north of Macclesfield. Robert Milkins
Robert Milkins (born 6 March 1976) is an English professional snooker player. Considered one of the most naturally talented and quickest players in the game, Milkins has been a mainstay on the tour since regaining his tour card in 1998. Milkins reached a career high rank of 12 in 2014 and has been in and around the worlds top 32 for two decades. After 27 years as a professional, he won his first ranking title at the 2022 Gibraltar Open. Aged 46, he became the oldest first-time winner of a ranking event since Doug Mountjoy at the 1988 UK Championship. Career Milkins turned professional in 1995, but dropped off the Main Tour when it was reduced in size after the 1996/1997 season, but returned a year later via the UK Tour. The 2016 World Seniors Championship (Known for sponsorship reasons as the 888sport World Seniors Championship) was a snooker tournament that took place on 30–31 January 2016 at the Guild Hall in Preston, England. Players had to be at least 40 years old at the end of the 2015/16 season. The championship was won by Mark Davis, who beat Darren Morgan 2–1 in the final. 2015 World Seniors Championship
The 2015 World Seniors Championship (Known for sponsorship reasons as the Betway World Seniors Championship) was a snooker tournament that took place between 2–3 March 2015 at the Circus Arena in Blackpool, England. The Circus Arena played host to the tournament for the first time, having previously being held at the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth. The age limit of the event was reduced from 45 to 40 years, allowing players such as Mark Williams, Peter Ebdon, Dominic Dale and Fergal O'Brien to enter. Players had to be aged 40 or above at the end of the 2015 World Championship (4 May 2015). Steve Davis was the defending champion, but he lost 0–2 against Fergal O'Brien in the quarter-finals. Mark Williams won his 26th professional title by defeating Fergal O'Brien 2–1 in the final. Philip Williams (snooker Player)
Philip Williams (born 3 June 1967) is a Welsh former professional snooker player. He was a professional for most seasons between 1993–94 and 2003–04, but failed to establish himself, his highest ranking position being 104. His best performances both came in 2001, when he reached the last 64 of both the Benson & Hedges Championship and the British Open. As an amateur, he won the Welsh Championship in 2006. He then reached the quarter-final at the amateur 2006 IBSF World Snooker Championship in Amman, Jordan, where he was eliminated by Kurt Maflin 6–3. In the 2008 IBSF World Snooker Championship he was beaten by Alok Kumar. In the 2009 IBSF World Snooker Championship he was eliminated in the semi-finals by Alfie Burden of England. Alain Robidoux
Alain Robidoux (born July 25, 1960) is a Canadian retired professional snooker player. Robidoux played on the sport's main tour from 1987 to 2004 and continues to play in events in Canada. Career He was born in Saint-Jérôme, Quebec and joined the pro circuit in the late 1980s, playing as a "non-tournament" professional. This entitled Robidoux to be listed on official rankings, although he could not play in most competitions. In 1988, Robidoux amassed enough points in the World Championship qualifiers to finish in the top 128 players, and thus allowing him to join the tour full-time. In September 1988, Robidoux became only the sixth player ever to record an officially ratified 147 maximum break in the qualifiers for the European Open. The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) is the governing body of professional snooker and English billiards based in Bristol, England. It owns and publishes the official rules of the two sports and engages in promotional activities. Steve Meakin
Steve Meakin (born July 19, 1961) is a former professional snooker player. He played on the World Snooker Tour between 1988 and 1996. Career Meakin reached the Final of a non-ranking WPBSA Tournament in 1988 but lost to David Taylor (snooker player), David Taylor. Meakin suffered a loss against Dubliner Paddy Browne at the 1989 World Snooker Championship, from 8-1 up in the final qualifying round before The Crucible, he lost 10-9. He reached the round of the Last 48 at the Dubai Classic in 1993 which included a victory over world number 33 Silvino Francisco.
