	Les Cousins Branchaud Les Cousins Branchaud are a traditional folk group from Sainte-Ursule, Quebec. The group is known for their energy on stage as they put their own spin on old classiques and original traditional-style songs. History The group was formed in the early 90s by Claude Branchaud (Mandolin, Vocals), Guy Branchaud (Guitar, Vocals) and Luc Croisetière (Percussion, Vocals) to raise money for the Make a Wish Foundation. In the fall of 1994 Paul-André Nadeau (Violinist, Guitarist, Vocals) joined the group. After playing at many volunteer and folk shows they gradually established their name in the region. In 1997 Patrick Desmarais joined the group and brought along his instrumental skill with the accordion, harmonica, rebec and vocals. In 2000, Les Cousins Branchaud produced their first album, ''Swing la don' dans ton salon'', which includes songs that are traditional within the families of each member. 	La Bottine Souriante La Bottine Souriante is a folk band from Canada. The band specializes in traditional French Canadian folk music, often with a modern twist. Formed in 1976 by Yves Lambert, Andre Marchand, and Mario Forest, they have toured extensively through Europe and North America. In 1990, the band integrated a four-piece horn section with traditional instruments such as accordion, fiddle, guitar, piano and double bass, in order to add an element of jazz to their music. In 1998, they contributed a song to the Canadian Celtic music compilation by The Chieftains, ''Fire in the Kitchen''. 	La Volée D'Castors La Volée d'Castors (''A Flock of Beavers'') is a Canadian folk music, folk music group formed in 1993. Since the late 1990s, they performed in Quebec and have toured 15 countries. History The band from the Lanaudière region was formed in 1993 by Nicolas Froment, Mathieu Lacas, Martin Mailhot, and Sébastien Parent. Their first album, ''Galant'', was released in 1994. 	Mondial Des Cultures The Mondial Des Cultures (formerly called the Festival Mondial de Folklore (''World Folklore Festival'') was a folk dance festival which was held every summer in early July at the Woodyatt Park, in Drummondville, a city located in the Centre-du-Québec region. The event was founded in 1982, after members of the folk ensemble Mackinaw had attended a similar festival in Dijon, France. The last festival was held in summer 2017 festival, after which it ceased to exist.
