Leonid Tălmaci
Leonid Talmaci (born 26 April 1954) is a Moldovan politician. He was born in Reteni and served as the head of the National Bank of Moldova (1991–2009). The National Bank of Moldova ( ro, Banca Naţională a Moldovei) is the central bank of the Republic of Moldova. The National Bank of Moldova is an autonomous public legal entity and is responsible to the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. The primary objective of the National Bank of Moldova shall be to ensure and maintain the price stability. Without prejudice to its primary objective, the National Bank of Moldova shall promote and maintain a financial system based on market principles and shall support the general economic policy of the state. Dorin Drăguţanu (born 19 March 1974) is an economist from Moldova. He was born in Chişinău and has served as the head of the National Bank of Moldova since November 2009 until April 2016, when was replaced by Sergiu Cioclea. The Moldavian Soviet Socialist Republic ( ro, Republica Sovietică Socialistă Moldovenească, Moldovan Cyrillic: ) was one of the 15 republics of the Soviet Union which existed from 1940 to 1991. The republic was formed on 2 August 1940 from parts of Bessarabia, a region annexed from Romania on 28 June of that year, and parts of the Moldavian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic, an autonomous Soviet republic within the Ukrainian SSR.
