Leonardo Paniagua
Leonardo Paniagua (born August 5, 1945) is one of the Dominican Republic's most popular bachata musicians. He emerged from obscurity to overnight stardom in the 1970s, when he recorded his first 45rpm record, "Amada, Amante" for Discos Guarachita. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Paniagua's bachata albums were the best-selling. With his soft voice and romantic style, he appealed beyond bachata's usual working-class audience. He was also one of the first artists to form a movement of romantic-bachateros, artists who helped the genre emerge into mainstream music. Some of his greatest hits include song like "Mi Secreto", "Ella Se LLamaba Marta", among others. La Vega Province
La Vega () is a province of the Dominican Republic. Until 1992 it included what is now Monseñor Nouel province. History The first settlement made by Christopher Columbus in the area was on December 8, 1494. Its initial economic development was based on gold mining. In the early 16th century, it had a cathedral, plus two convents, the fort, a building that functioned as a hospital, and administration buildings. In La Vega the first coin was minted and the first merchants settled. It is also the site of one of the mayor battles between Spaniards and indigenous people. Chiquitita
"Chiquitita" (a Spanish term of endearment for a woman meaning "little one") is a song recorded by Swedish pop group ABBA. It was released in January 1979 as the first single from the group's sixth album, '' Voulez-Vous'' (1979). Agnetha Fältskog performs the lead vocals. Originally, the track "If It Wasn't for the Nights" was going to be the album's lead single, but after "Chiquitita" was completed those plans were abandoned, and it would remain an album track. Background and release Many preliminary versions of "Chiquitita" exist. It had working titles of "Kålsupare", "3 Wise Guys", "Chiquitita Angelina" and "In The Arms of Rosalita".
