Leon Root (June 15, 1929 – September 21, 2015) was the former Chief of Pediatric Orthopaedics at the Hospital for Special Surgery. He was President (corporate title), President of the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Human development (biology), Developmental Medicine in 1988. Dr. Root wrote the popular "No More Aching Back" in 1992. Pediatrics ( also spelled ''paediatrics'' or ''pædiatrics'') is the branch of medicine that involves the medical care of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.
