Lennart Lindgren (Swedish Navy Officer)
Captain Nils Lennart Lindgren (1 September 1919 – 25 February 2013) was a Swedish Navy officer. He commanded the minelayer and the destroyer , and served as head of the Swedish Auxiliary Naval Corps. Lindgren also served at the Swedish embassies in Washington, D.C. and Copenhagen as a naval and military attaché. Early life Lindgren was born on 1 September 1919 in Stockholm, Sweden, the son of Naval Captain Bengt Lindgren and his wife Lucy (née Haglund). He passed ''studentexamen'' in Djursholm in 1938 and began his naval career as a teenager and schoolboy by internship aboard destroyers and cabin boy brigs. After that Lindgren spent weeks aboard the destroyer HSwMS ''Klas Uggla'' (4) in the summer of 1934. Two years later, he served on the destroyer HSwMS ''Klas Horn'' (3) and was recommended for entry into the Royal Swedish Naval Academy. Royal Swedish Naval Staff College
The Royal Swedish Naval Staff College ( sv, Kungliga Sjökrigshögskolan, KSHS) was a Swedish Navy training establishment between 1898 and 1961, providing courses for naval officers. It was the home of the Swedish Navy's staff college, which provided advanced training for officers. It was located within the Stockholm garrison in Stockholm, Sweden. ''Ryttmästare'' (from the German word ''Rittmeister'') was a military rank in the Swedish cavalry in the Swedish Army. The rank corresponded to the rank of captain in other service branches. The rank was abolished in 1972. History The military rank of ''ryttmästare'' as a designation for the rank of captain had been used since the 16th century. The name was then used for the commander of a company of riders (several of them were usually part of a squadron). later became squadron commander. Embassy of Sweden in Copenhagen is the diplomatic mission of Sweden to the Kingdom of Denmark. It is located at Amaliegade 5A, 1256 Copenhagen K. The residence The ambassador's residence is located on Sankt Annæ Plads, on the southern boundary of Frederiksstaden. The building was originally built as a new home for Johan Jegind, a timber tradesman. Its architect was Nicolai Eigtved who also designed the masterplan for the new neighbourhood and many of its buildings. The banker and later finance minister Johan Sigismund von Mösting lived in the building from 1814 until 1818. Count Carl von Moltke lived there from 1845. In 1852, Ph. Randrup, its owner at that time, extended it with an extra floor. He also expanded it with a new building along Sankt Annæ Plads which was completed in 1855. Carl XVI Gustaf (Carl Gustaf Folke Hubertus; born 30 April 1946) is King of Sweden. He ascended the throne on the death of his grandfather, Gustaf VI Adolf, on 15 September 1973. He is the youngest child and only son of Prince Gustaf Adolf, Duke of Västerbotten, and Princess Sibylla of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. His father died on 26 January 1947 in an airplane crash in Denmark when Carl Gustaf was nine months old.
