Lene Lund Høy Karlsen
Lene Lund Høy Karlsen (, born 8 June 1979) is a Danish former handball player. She played her entire career in the Danish league system for, GOG Håndbold, Odense HK, Fredericia HK and Viborg HK Viborg HK (Viborg Håndbold Klub) is the name of a Danish handball club from Viborg. The club has many teams for both women and men, but especially the professional women's team is one of the most successful in Danish and European handball sin .... She was born in Gudbjerg in Denmark and began playing handball in GOG with whom she won bronze medals in 2003. In her first season in Viborg HK she won both the Danish championship as well as the EHF Champions League. In the 2007/08 season Karlsen got a competitor for the line place when the German line player Anja Althaus came to Viborg HK from her former club, German Trier. Her contract ran out in the summer of 2010, but she stopped before that because of pregnancy.

Denmark Women's National Handball Team
The Denmark women's national handball team is the national team of Denmark. It is governed by the Dansk Håndbold Forbund (DHF). In 1997, it became the first Women's Handball team to hold all three major titles simultaneously (The World Championship, The Olympic Championship and The European Championship). Denmark women's handball team is the only team (women's and men's) in handball history to win the Olympic Games three consecutive times, earning the gold medal in 1996, 2000, and 2004. Despite tremendous results, the Danish handball team has seen a steady decline. As of 2021, the team has not won a gold medal since the Olympic Games 2004. However, at the World Championship 2013, the team won its first medal (bronze) at a World Championship since 1997 when the team won gold. The Men's EHF Champions League is the most important club handball competition for men's teams in Europe and involves the leading teams from the top European nations. The competition is organised every year by EHF. The official name for the men's competition is the EHF Champions League Men. The EHF coefficient rank decides which teams have access and in which stage they enter. Eligibility and qualifying Each year, the EHF publishes a ranking list of its member federations. Anja Althaus
Anja Althaus (born 3 September 1982) is a retired German handball player who most recently played for Győri ETO KC and formerly was a member of the German national team. She won the Champions League three times in her career (twice with Viborg, once with Győr). Althaus made her debut on the German team in 2002. She received a bronze medal at the 2007 World Championship. She competed at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, where Germany finished 11th. She announced her retirement from professional handball after the Champions League final in 2017, where HC Vardar fell short to Győri ETO. She changed her mind and a few weeks later signed a contract with Győri ETO.
