Len Stubbs
Leonard George Stubbs (born 24 October 1928) is a former English cricketer. Stubbs was a right-handed batsman. He was born in Calcutta, Bengal Presidency in the British Raj (today Kolkata, India). Stubbs made his debut Hertfordshire in the 1967 Minor Counties Championship against Cambridgeshire. He played Minor counties cricket for Hertfordshire from 1967 to 1971, making 39 Minor Counties Championship appearances. He made his List A debut for the county against Devon in the 1969 Gillette Cup. The 1969 Gillette Cup was the seventh Gillette Cup, an English limited overs county cricket tournament. It was held between 10 May and 6 September 1969. The tournament was won by Yorkshire County Cricket Club who defeated Derbyshire County Cricket Club by 69 runs in the final at Lord's. Format The seventeen first-class counties were joined by five Minor Counties: Buckinghamshire, Devon, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Wiltshire. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Batting Average (cricket)
In cricket, a player's batting average is the total number of runs they have scored divided by the number of times they have been out, usually given to two decimal places. Since the number of runs a player scores and how often they get out are primarily measures of their own playing ability, and largely independent of their teammates, batting average is a good metric for an individual player's skill as a batter (although the practice of drawing comparisons between players on this basis is not without criticism). The number is also simple to interpret intuitively. If all the batter's innings were completed (i.e. they were out every innings), this is the average number of runs they score per innings. Glamorgan County Cricket Club ( cy, Criced Morgannwg) is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Glamorgan ( cy, Morgannwg). Founded in 1888, Glamorgan held minor status at first and was a prominent member of the early Minor Counties Championship before the First World War.
