Len Attley
Leonard James Attley (21 April 1910 – 1979) was a Welsh professional footballer. He made 12 appearances in the Football League for Cardiff City. Brian Robert Attley (born 23 August 1955) is a Welsh former professional footballer. Able to play in either defence or midfield, he made over 200 appearances in The Football League during his career. Early life Attley was born in Cardiff and attended Fitzalan High School. The Third Division South of The Football League was a tier in the English football league system from 1921 to 1958. It ran in parallel with the Third Division North with clubs elected to the League or relegated from Division Two allocated to one or the other according to geographical position. Some clubs in the English Midlands shuttled between the Third Division South and the Third Division North according to the composition of the two leagues in any one season. This division was created in 1921 from the Third Division, formed one year earlier when the Football League absorbed the leading clubs from the Southern League. Harold Riley (22 November 1909 – 8 April 1982), sometimes known as Harry Riley, was an English professional footballer who scored 74 goals from 217 appearances in the Football League playing for Birmingham, Accrington Stanley, Lincoln City, Notts County, Cardiff City, Northampton Town and Exeter City. Career Riley was born in the Hollinwood area of Oldham, Lancashire. He began his football career in the Cheshire County League, first with Altrincham and then with Hurst, for whom he scored both on his debut and on his last appearance, with a total of 11 goals from 22 games in all competitions.
