Leif Olav Alnes
Leif Olav Alnes (born 29 January 1957) is a Norwegian athletics coach. He originally hails from Torvikbukt. When moving to Oslo to study at the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences, whence he graduated in biomechanics, he became a coach in IK Tjalve. Having coached many athletes, Alnes is best known as the coach of Geir Moen and later Karsten Warholm, in a training group also consisting of Amalie Iuel and Elisabeth Slettum Elisabeth Slettum (born 31 August 1986) is a Norwegian athlete who specialized in the 200 metres, later the 400 metres hurdles. Torvikbukt
Torvikbukt is a village in Gjemnes Municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The village is located at the junction of the Batnfjorden and Tingvollfjorden and just northwest of the tall mountain Reinsfjellet. The village of Øre lies about to the southwest and the village of Heggem lies about to the south. The village has a population (2018) of 221 and a population density of . Economy Industry The biggest and most important company is Gjøco A/S. Gjøco is a paint producer, and has the second largest market share in the Norway for indoor-painting products. Geir Moen
Geir Moen (born 26 June 1969 in Oslo) is a former sprinter from Moss, Norway who specialized in the 200 metres. He represented Moss IL. His international senior debut came at the 1989 European Indoor Championships. At the 1994 European Championships he made his breakthrough as he won the gold medal in the 200 metres and the silver medal in the 100 metres. These were Norway's first European sprint medals since Haakon W. Tranberg in 1946. The same year he finished third in 200 m at the 1994 IAAF World Cup. The next year he won the 200 m at the 1995 World Indoor Championships and finished sixth at the 1995 World Championships. He reached an international final for the last time as he finished fourth at the 1998 European Championships. Karsten Warholm
Karsten Warholm (; born 28 February 1996) is a Norwegian sprinter who competes in the 400 metres and 400 m hurdles. He’s the world record holder in the latter event. In July 2021, he broke the 29-year-old world record in 400 metres hurdles. The following month at the 2020 Summer Olympics, he won the gold medal in the 400 metres hurdles with a time of 45.94 seconds, breaking his own world record by over three-quarters of a second. Warholm has also won gold in the event at the World Championships in 2017 and 2019, as well as the 2018 European Championships. He is a two-time 400m hurdles Diamond League champion. In 2021, he was voted World Athletics Male Athlete of the Year. Amalie Iuel
Amalie Hammild Iuel (born 17 April 1994) is a Danish-Norwegian hurdler. She represented Norway in the women's 400 metres hurdles at the 2015 World Championships in Athletics, but was eliminated in the heats. Biography Amalie Iuel was born in Denmark to a Danish mother and a Danish-Norwegian father; the family moved to Norway when she was two years old, and she spent most of her childhood there. The Iuels left Norway when Amalie was twelve due to the demands of her father's job with Telenor; they first moved to Namibia, and later Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates and Thailand. Iuel took up track and field as a young girl in Norway, but did not pursue it seriously before her time in Thailand at the International School Bangkok (ISB); her coach there, Ugo Costessi, introduced her to the 400 metres hurdles. Elisabeth Slettum (born 31 August 1986) is a Norwegian athlete who specialized in the 200 metres, later the 400 metres hurdles. Individually she finished sixth at the 2003 European Youth Olympic Festival. She competed at the 2004 World Junior Championships, the 2005 European Indoor Championships, the 2005 European Junior Championships, the 2006 European Championships, the 2007 European U23 Championships and the 2014 European Championships without reaching the final. At the Norwegian championships she won gold in 2005–2009 and 2014–2015, and also took four silver medals and one bronze. In the 100 metres she has six silver medals and one bronze medal.
