Leicester Hockey Club
Leicester City Hockey Club is a professional field hockey club based in Leicester, England, who play their home games at St. Margaret's Pastures. The ladies side has produced a number of international players and is recognised as one of the most successful clubs in England having won six league titles. Teams The ladies team was established in 1894 and the men's section was launched in 2018. The club currently fields five ladies teams, two men's teams and various youth teams. The ladies 1st XI play in the Women's England Hockey League. The men's teams, and the remainder of the ladies teams, play in the Midlands League. The Academy Leicester City Hockey Club recently launched their junior academy with training, matches and tournaments for junior players aged 6-18. The 2014 Women's EuroHockey Club Trophy was the 38th edition of the women's Women's EuroHockey Club Trophy, Europe's secondary club field hockey tournament organized by the EHF. It was held from 6 to 9 June 2014 in Loughborough, England. Leicester won the tournament after defeating Izmaylovo 2–1 in the final. Mary Elizabeth Nevill (born 12 March 1961 in Gawsworth, Cheshire, England) is a British former field hockey player. Nevill captained the Great Britain squad that won the bronze medal at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona. She also competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics. Hannah Louise Macleod, (born 9 June 1984) is an English field hockey player. Macleod began her youth career at St Ives Hockey Club, Cambridge, and rose up the ranks to play for their first team. She went on to play club hockey for St Albans, Leicester and Loughborough Students. She made her international debut in 2003. She competed for the Great Britain at the 2012 Summer Olympics, helping the team win bronze.
