Left Front (Russia)
The Left Front ( rus, Левый Фронт, Levyy Front) is a united front of leftist political organizations in Russia. It is strongly critical of President Vladimir Putin. History The first constituent congress of the Left Front was held on 18 October 2008, in Moscow. The main direction of work after the Congress was using social movements, unions, and labor collectives. The secondary focus of activists has been called "propaganda of action", in which the use of ideas and demands of leftist activists is supposed to be brought to society in the form of direct action, thus attempting to overcome the difficulties of access to media. In addition, the Left Front was the organizer of the annual summer youth camps, schools, political activists, conferences, study groups for the study of socialist thought and practice, film clubs, concerts and other activities.E. Sergei Udaltsov
Sergei Stanislavovich Udaltsov (russian: Серге́й Станиславович Удальцов; born 16 February 1977) is a Russian left-wing political activist. He is the unofficial leader of the Vanguard of Red Youth (AKM). In 2011 and 2012, he helped lead a series of protests against Vladimir Putin. In 2014 he was sentenced to 4¹⁄₂ years in a penal camp for organizing the May 2012 protest which ended in violence between the police and demonstrators. December 2011 arrest On 4 December 2011, the day of the Russian legislative elections, Udaltsov was arrested in Moscow for allegedly "resisting officers' recommendations to cross the road in the correct place" and detained for five days. Darya Alexandrovna Mitina is a Russian leftist politician, historian, and cinema critic. She was born on August 14, 1973 in Moscow. Her mother, Natalia Mitina, was a known Soviet cinema scenario writer, and her father, Kasem Iskander Ibrahim Mohammed Yusufzai, was the founder of an Afghanistan national TV network. NEWSru.com was a Russian online news site, based in Moscow, which had a government-critical orientation. History NEWSru.com was originally launched in 2000 at the address ntv.ru. When the government took over the NTV network in 2000, with the network becoming part of OAO Gazprom Media, the site remained part of the media empire of former NTV owner, oligarch Vladimir Gusinsky. Yelena Bereznitskaya-Bruni replaced the initial Editor in Chief Igor Barchugov in 2001.
