Lee Stecklein
Lee Ethel Stecklein (born April 23, 1994) is an American ice hockey defenseman and member of the US national team, currently playing in the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association (PWHPA) with Team Harvey's. She has represented the United States at the Winter Olympic Games in the 2014, 2018 and 2022. Her college ice hockey career was played with the Minnesota Golden Gophers women's ice hockey program. Stecklein was selected second overall by the Buffalo Beauts in the 2016 NWHL Draft. Playing career NCAA Stecklein played in all 41 games of her freshman season (2012–13) at Minnesota, tallying three goals and nine assists. USA Hockey Stecklein made her senior national team debut at the 2013 4 Nations Cup and, later in that season, won a gold medal at the 2013 IIHF Women's World Championship. Roseville is a city in Ramsey County, Minnesota, United States. 2019 IIHF Women's World Championship
The 2019 IIHF Women's World Championship was an international Ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. It was contested in Espoo, Finland from 4 to 14 April 2019 at the Espoo Metro Areena. The United States won their fifth consecutive and ninth overall title after a shootout win over Finland. Canada claimed the bronze medal by defeating Russia 7–0. After the 2017 tournament, it was announced that tournament would expand to ten teams for 2019, having been played with eight teams since the first tournament in 1990, except in 2004, 2007, 2008, and 2009, where nine teams played. IIHF World Women's Championship
The IIHF World Women's Championship (WW or WWC), officially the IIHF Ice Hockey Women's World Championship, is the premier international tournament in women's ice hockey. It is governed by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The official world competition was first held in 1990, with four more championships held in the 90s. From 1989 to 1996, and in years that there was no world tournament held, there were European Championships and in 1995 and 1996 a Pacific Rim Championship. From the first Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Tournament in 1998 onward, the Olympic tournament was played instead of the IIHF Championships. USA Hockey is the national ice hockey organization in the United States. 2012–13 Minnesota Golden Gophers Women's Ice Hockey Season
The Minnesota Golden Gophers women's hockey team represented the University of Minnesota in the 2012–13 NCAA Division I women's ice hockey season. The Gophers hosted the 2013 NCAA Frozen Four and repeated as national champions. Notably, the Gophers were the first ice hockey team in the history of today's NCAA Division I, of either sex, to complete an undefeated season. The last NCAA ice hockey team to complete an unbeaten season was the 1983–84 Bemidji State men's team, which then competed in Division II, a level that no longer holds a championship (the Beavers now compete in Division I hockey). Buffalo Beauts
The Buffalo Beauts are a professional ice hockey team based in Amherst, New York, United States. The team was established in 2015 as one of the four founding franchises of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF), originally named the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL). They play at Northtown Center in the Buffalo suburb of Amherst. The team played at Harborcenter in downtown Buffalo for their first four seasons.
