Catherine Ward
Catherine Ward (born February 27, 1987) is a member of the Canada women's national ice hockey team. She was also a member of the 2008–09 McGill Martlets women's hockey season, which won a Canadian Interuniversity Sport title. She was drafted 7th overall by the Montreal Stars in the 2011 CWHL Draft. Ward established herself as one of Canada's stars on the blue line playing for the Canadian U22 team and for the 2009 Women's World Championship team and the 2010 Olympic gold medal winning team. While with Martlets at McGill University, Ward set a QSSF record for points by a defenseman, and in 2007 became the first Martlet to earn the CIS rookie-of-the-year honour since the inception of the award in 2001. Jocelyne Lamoureux
Jocelyne Nicole Lamoureux-Davidson (born July 3, 1989) is a former American ice hockey player, author, gender equity advocate, and co-founder of the Lamoureux Foundation. She scored the game-winning shootout goal to win the gold medal for Team USA at the 2018 Winter Olympics against Canada after her twin sister Monique tied the game near the end of regulation. Lamoureux-Davidson also won silver medals for the United States women's national ice hockey team at the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics. Lamoureux played one season of NCAA hockey for the University of Minnesota and three for the University of North Dakota. She competed for a year with the Professional Women's Hockey Players Association, a worker's union pushing for equality in the sport, and retired from playing in 2021. Lyndsey Fry (born October 30, 1992) is a retired American ice hockey player. She was a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. Fry was born in Mesa, Arizona, but grew up in Chandler, Arizona. She played college hockey for Harvard University. Brianna Decker
Brianna Decker (born May 13, 1991) is an American women's ice hockey player who plays for the Calgary section of the PWHPA and the United States women's national ice hockey team. She won the 2012 Patty Kazmaier Award while playing for the University of Wisconsin, recognizing the best female ice hockey player in NCAA Division I play. With the Boston Pride, Decker would score the first hat trick in NWHL history on October 25, 2015. Kelli Allison Stack (born January 13, 1988) is an American former ice hockey forward, who played for Kunlun Red Star in the Canadian Women's Hockey League. She is a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. Stack competed for the Boston College Eagles women's ice hockey program and after completing her Olympic commitment, returned to Boston College for her senior year of 2010–11. Bailey Bram Mitchell (born September 5, 1990) is a Canadian retired ice hockey player. As a member of Team Canada, she won a silver medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics and five IIHF Women's World Championship medals, one gold and four silver, from 2012 to 2017. Tara Leigh-Anne Watchorn (born May 30, 1990) is a Canadian women's ice hockey player who has competed for the Canadian national women's ice hockey team. She made her debut for Team Canada in the 2010 Four Nations Cup and played for Canada most recently at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Mélodie Daoust ( ; born January 7, 1992) is a Canadian ice hockey player. She has competed with the Canada women's national ice hockey team, Canadian national team in numerous international tournaments and won a gold medal at the 2014 Winter Olympics, a silver medal at the 2018 Winter Olympics and a gold medal at the 2022 winter Olympics. Jessica Ann "Jessie" Vetter (born December 19, 1985) is an American ice hockey player and a member of the United States women's national ice hockey team. She was also a member of the 2008–09 Wisconsin Badgers women's ice hockey team, which won an NCAA title. She was drafted 20th overall by the Boston Blades in the 2011 CWHL Draft. Geneviève Lacasse (born May 5, 1989) is a Canadian ice hockey goaltender currently playing for the Montréal section of the PWHPA. The Herb Brooks Arena is a multi-purpose arena in Lake Placid, New York. This surface, along with the USA Rink, was built for the 1980 Winter Olympics. About The arena hosted various events during the 1980 Winter Olympics, most famously the ice hockey tournament that saw the United States' 4–3 victory over the Soviet Union, the game commonly referred to as the Miracle on Ice. In 2005, to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the American victory, the arena was named after the late Herb Brooks, who coached the American team during the 1980 Olympics.
