Softball
Softball is a game similar to baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. Softball is played competitively at club levels, the college level, and the professional level. Miss North Carolina
The Miss North Carolina competition selects the representative for the state of North Carolina to compete in the annual Miss America competition. The competition has been held in Raleigh every year since 1978. Prior to that, it was held in various locales including Charlotte, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Durham, Burlington, Wilmington, and Morehead City. Karolyn Martin of Charlotte was crowned Miss North Carolina 2022 on June 25, 2022 at High Point Theatre in High Point, North Carolina. She competed for the title of Miss America 2023 at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut in December 2022. 75th anniversary The Miss North Carolina pageant celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2012. Brad Hoover
Bradley R. Hoover (born November 11, 1976) is a former American football fullback. He was signed by the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted free agent in 2000. He played college football at Western Carolina. Early years Hoover was a Shrine Bowl participant and an all-state selection at Ledford Senior High School in Thomasville, North Carolina. He led the state with 2,662 yards rushing and scored 34 touchdowns as a senior. He earned Davidson County, North Carolina and Central Carolina Conference Player of the Year honors. College career Hoover made a big impact at Western Carolina University being second all-time in school history in career yards. Miss North Carolina Teen USA
The Miss North Carolina Teen USA competition is the pageant that selects the representative for the state of North Carolina in the Miss Teen USA pageant and is part of the RPM Productions group. North Carolina has been moderately successful at Miss Teen USA, but has never won the title. Their best placement was in 1987, 2006 and 2016 when Peggy Blackwell, Melissa Lingafelt and Emily Wakeman placed first runner-up respectively. North Carolina's greatest success came from the mid-1980s to early 1990s. Their most recent placement came in 2018, when Kaaviya Sambasivam placed fourth runner-up. North Carolina, along with Illinois and Florida, has the most Miss Photogenic award winners in the pageant with three each. Madison Hedgecock
Madison Smith Hedgecock (born August 27, 1981) is a former American football player who was a fullback in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons. He played college football for the University of North Carolina. He was drafted by the St. Louis Rams in the seventh round of the 2005 NFL Draft. Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team's court under organized rules.
