The Lebanese Elite Cup () is a Lebanese football annual cup competition contested by the top six teams of the previous Lebanese Premier League season. Founded in 1996 as the Super League Cup, the first edition was contested by the top five finishers of the league and the Lebanese FA Cup winners. The most successful club in the competition is Nejmeh with 12 titles, followed by Ahed with six. History The competition was first played in 1996 and was contested by the top five of the league and the Lebanese FA Cup winners; it was known as the Super League Cup. The following season it was known as the Super Cup and expanded to feature the top six teams of the previous season. From 1998 until 2002 it was known as the Viceroy Cup, and in 2003 it changed again to the Prime Cup, but has always been known locally as the Elite Cup, the current name of the competition. Lebanese Football Association
The Lebanese Football Association (LFA) ( ar, الاتحاد اللبناني لكرة القدم, Al-Ittiḥād Al-Lubnānī Likurat Al-Qadam; french: Fédération Libanaise de Football) is the governing body of association football in Lebanon. Formed in 1933, it is a member of both the AFC and FIFA. It is also one of the founding members of the WAFF, joining in its inception in 2001. History In 1931 Khalil Hilmi, a member of Riyadi Beirut, attempted to form a federation. However, the proposal failed as Nahda opposed its formation. On 22 March 1933, representatives of thirteen football clubs gathered in the Minet El Hosn district in Beirut to form the Lebanese Football Association (LFA). Hussein Sejaan was the LFA's first president. Lebanon was one of the first nations in the Middle East to establish an administrative body for association football. Lebanese Challenge Cup
The Lebanese Challenge Cup () is a Lebanese football annual cup competition contested by the teams placed between 7th and 10th in the previous season of the Lebanese Premier League and the two newly promoted teams from the Lebanese Second Division. Founded in 2013, the most successful clubs in the competition are Tadamon Sour, Shabab Sahel, Racing Beirut and Bourj, all with two titles each. Format The teams placed between 7th and 10th in the previous season of the Lebanese Premier League and the two newly promoted teams from the Lebanese Second Division are split into two groups of three. The first two placed teams in each group qualify to the knock-out stages, where two one-legged semi-finals are disputed. The two winners from the previous round play the final, with the winner being crowned champion of the competition. The Lebanese Super Cup () is Lebanese football's annual match contested between the champions of the previous Lebanese Premier League season and the holders of the Lebanese FA Cup. If the Lebanese Premier League champions also won the Lebanese FA Cup then the league runners-up provide the opposition. The fixture is recognized as a competitive super cup by the Lebanese Football Association and the Asian Football Confederation. Ahed is the most successful club in the competition with eight wins.
